Nautische Instrumente Mhle Glashtte Terranaut Watch collection
This collection of watches really surprised me. I've always like Muhle Glashutte watches (no I am not going to dig out the "u" with the two little dots over it, but you know it should be there), but not really like enough to discuss them in an excited manner. That is different with the Terranaut collection. Actually it is funny cause it is a decidedly "land" based watch for a maker of "nautical instruments." I will forgive them for that. The Terranaut is segmented into three version, the I, II, and III. I and II are my top picks with III being OK, but not as nice. Each of the watches comes in a 44mm wide (40mm for the Terranaut III) sanitized steel case that is between about 10-13mm thick (depending on the version). My top choice is the Terranaut I, which is the chronograph version with a Valjoux 7750 movement inside. The chronograph subdials are extra large and easy to read, which the subsidiary seconds dial being a cool looking rotating triangle. Neat huh? I think that Muhle Glashutte
Speedmaster Moonwatch White Side of the Moon
Following the success of the black ceramic Dark Side of the Moon in 2013 then the grey model in 2014, the Bienne-based brand has unveiled a milky piece. Unlike its predecessors, White Side of the Moon captures the moon as it's seen from Earth. Forged in white zirconium oxide ceramic (inc. graduated bezel, crown and pushers), the 44.25mm case houses the famous self-winding 9300 calibre which provides a 60-hour power reserve and fuels the time, date and chronograph functions. The white ceramic dial features an hour rim with white gold indices coated in white Super-LumiNova? just like the hands above it. The red-tipped chronograph central seconds hand is made of rhodium. The small seconds counter stands at 9 o' clock, the date at 6 o' clock and the chronograph minutes and hours lie in a counter at 3 o' clock. Price: 11,700 CHF
My Dad's Breitling
I have my Dad's Breitling, Navitimer, of course it's not working but it is from the 1950's or early 1960's. On the case it's stamped Breitling, Stainless steel and the number #806. Of course it's a chronograph, the dial is black and it looks like the hands and hour markers at on time might of glowed. I would of asked about it years ago but I just happened upon it today when I was cleaning out a cabinet..........If anyone has any information I would appreciate your thoughts, comments and input!!!I did Google Breitling-Navitimer and the dial configuration matches the dials from 1954 to 1955 with the AOPA incorporated in the Wing on the dial with the Breitling name on the back of the case with the number #806. The Breitling name does not appear on the dial just the name Navitimer above the bottom sub-dial.......
Omega's blue...
