The Value Proposition: The Nomos Tangente, Setting New Standards For The Modern Watch
Some watches cost $36,440 and are worth every penny. Other watches, like the Nomos Tangente, cost $2,330 and make you wonder why more companies can’t (or won’t) produce models offering this much value. The Tangente is the type of watch that makes writing this column easy. A little too easy. At this price point, there’s no other modern brand that gets design, manufacturing, and quality consistently right – across a range of models, to boot. The Tangente is minimal without being sterile, modern without being brash, and above all, it houses an in-house movement, the Nomos Alpha caliber. This is a true Value Proposition. 2 OF 8 The stainless steel case is just 6.7mm thick C a welcome break from watches that are still too thick in the 21st century. First, let’s discuss the size: a stainless-steel case measuring 37.5mm x 6.75 mm (despite the "38" in the model name) is unusual for a new watch, especially in a market lately dominated b

My darling son with his favourite / my watch
Well we have all seen the advertisements but today I had to laughMy son is six and loves my watchesToday I told him that I bought something special home and did he want to have a look.He immediately said yes.I pulled out my 5131 and his eyes opened and with a cheeky smile he says 'that's my favourite can I have it when I grow up'To which I said 'yes of course'He followed up by recanting why the watch is so special (he is definitely my son)Anyway my story may have been lost in translation and I apologise for the crappy photo but I was very pleased that one day this watch will be going to a good home...
Aquanaut or Nautilus for "Dressy Casual" Person
I am looking for advice on my next watch. I work from home and have a successful internet business, but I rarely wear formal attire... Mainly high end brand shirts, shorts and jeans (Armani, Gucci, Burberry, Etro, etc.). Great brands but their more casual or dress casual stuff. And short sleeve most of the year because I live in florida. Also, I wear nice shorts and Gucci or Prada sandals a lot. Actually I may be a bit more of a casual dresser even, only with high end brands.I say all this just to paint a picture to make your advice tailored to what I wear. I have looked at the AP 15400, 15300 and 15202 AND the Patek Nautilus and Aquanaut only briefly. I am drawn to get a Patek first.I know its all about personal preference, but if anyone has both an Aquanaut and Nautilus, I would love your thoughts on which may be the better first choice in SS (put money and availability aside, because I know the Nautilus is harder to come by and a bit more expensive).I have been racking my brain and
The 5726-1A
The more I look into Patek pieces, the more I think that if one day I will get a buddy for my 5712-1A, the more I think it whould be a 5726 but with grey dial and bracelet not strap, of course there is a big price difference between bracelet and strap version, but I really love the bracelet for all Nautilus models.I know some don't like it very much, Ken for example but I personally love this model, the complications are very useful, the AC is a great one to have, love the moon phase, even if the use is very limited except if you are a werewolf, highly unlikely IMO, like the sweep seconds, the 24hrs is cool also.Since I can't upload pics, go figure why, here is the link to the 5726 page on the Patek site..patek/contents/defaul...26_1A_001.htmlDon't hesitate to post pics of your 5726's, whatever the version, and tell us what you like/dislike about thos model. Thanks guys
