7 Rare Watches at Antiquorum’s 40th Anniversary Auction
Geneva-based Antiquorum Auctioneers turns 40 this year, and it is celebrating with an auction of Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces, to be held at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, on Saturday, February 22. Among the highlights of the more than 250 timepieces on the block are a rare, steel Patek Philippe chronograph; a prototype Richard Mille tourbillon watch; and several vintage Rolexes. Doubtless the headliner of the auction is the Patek Philippe Ref. 5004A stainless-steel wristwatch (Lot 250), with a split-seconds chronograph function, made in a limited edition of only 50 pieces. ?Produced in 2011, this highly collectible timepiece also features a perpetual calendar with moon-phases, leap year, and 24-hour indication, and comes on a leather strap with a stainless-steel Patek Philippe deployant clasp. The watch is double sealed and accompanied by a fitted wooden box, an additional, solid stainless steel case back, a setting pin and a leather folio. Its pre-auction estimate is
Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Tourbillon Watch With Thinnest Automatic Flying Tourbillon Movement
Parmigiani Fleurier has the look of a classic brand. There is something honest about the typographic logo, the often restrained styling, and the simple use of case shape and material quality to set it apart from other brands at first glance. But this is not an old brand. 2016 will see the 20th anniversary of Parmigiani's foundation. So how has a brand gone from a standing start to the release of the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 1950 Tourbillon watch C which just so happens to be the world's thinnest automatic flying tourbillon movement C in less than two decades?I think it has something to do with the high standards Michel Parmigiani, the founder of the brand, has set for his creations since day one. This was not a company that was happy to power its timepieces with off-the-shelf engines. The early years of Parmigiani are remembered for the production of in-house calibres, including the two eight-day mechanical and automatic?movements. And if that's not enough to pique your interest in th
Any risk to getting a 5711?
So, I've never seen a 5711 in the metal. I have seen the 5712 and it is elegant and seems like a good size for my wrist. I understand the 5711 is thinner than the 5712.So my question is, if given the opportunity to buy a brand new 5711 from AD at MSRP, is there much risk on my part of losing money if I don't the 5711? For that much money I better love it. I've never reached this price point before. Seems like selling a watch for <10k is easier than a >20k.For the record, I'm not trying to flip here, I would unseal it and size it for my wrist.Appreciate your thoughts.5712 test drive (bracelet not sized).

The first scratch is the deepest...
Anyone recommend a way to gently polish out scratches on a gold clasp without being too harsh?I knew it would happen at some point but I'm absolutely gutted I caught my 5 day old bluesy clasp on the rivet on my jeans pocket!!!Any advice welcomed.Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
