Living with Royal Oak
Hi allI've read lots of posts on servicing 'shocks' and the more fragile nature (compared to Rolex) of a Royal Oak, despite it being pitched as a Sports watch.I'd be really interested to hear from you guys about your experiences in terms of wearing a Royal Oak as an every day watch, in terms of general bumps and bruises and the follow on servicing.I'm planning on having one primarily for work (and then a Nautilus for special occasions only) and keeping my Rolex for bashing around on a daily basis, but keen to see if anyone has tried the Royal Oak as their main daily wearer?
Speedmaster 57' priced too high??
Hey folks,So, I currently own a planet ocean that i've had for 6 years, and want to get a new watch to commemorate me getting my Doctorate and my 30th birthday My family wants to chip in as well. I was leaning towards a rolex milgauss gv, but I recently saw the blue speedmaster 57', and it is gorgeous. In consulting with the last AD I dealt with, the price they were able to give me for the 57' is about $7250. Now, I think it deff is a gorgeous watch with an amazing movement, but it's a little tough for me to think of spending that much on an omega. Perhaps I am not giving the brand it's due, but I always looked at omega as best bang for buck in the 3-6k range. At 7kish i'm in rolex/jlc territory. This however is comparing omega's top movement to rolex or JLC simpler movements (maybe not so much for JLC). Anyway, am I wrong in thinking this way. Is the speed master 57' if had for around 7k considered a good deal for the watch in comparison to the brands available at that price.
Agree
Evening all,I saw a thread on here not long ago entitled 'Patek owners - what do you do for a living ?'Basically to see if there is a similarity in your occupation.User Jon_Jon said a better question would be 'how many people have inherited their wealth vs. how many are self-made, to purchase a PP'So I ask, which are you? If you are self-made, what do you do for a living?Personally, My father took over his company 2 years ago, it's a very consistent company, maintaining a high profit. He gave me the capital I needed to start my own company in the defence industry, to which my company began to grow and grow. I paid him back within a year and bought myself a GC 5970G. What about you?
Pam 671
I may be able to buy a 671 at retail. Way too big for my wrist but do you guys think I'd be able to flip it for some profit?
Poll 116610/114060 owners (If new slimmer Sub C, are you selling?)
Onwers of a the 116610 and 114060 If Rolex does announces a slimmed (lug size) Suc C for Basal, will you be selling your maxi case?
