Picked up the AP Diver!
At last! Finally picked up the Diver after much drooling on here! Actually thought my collection was done but seeing the many pics and reading your stories turned me on to this model. Another Great Day at European Watch Co in Boston v.Pics
I decided to stop in European Watch Co as I am looking to add a dressier piece into my collection. Everytime I am there the experience gets better. I get greeted by everyone with smiles as I walk in. Josh came right over and remembered my name. We chatted for a bit and I found out Josh had just got back from Geneva (Christy's 175th auction and the other auction). Very cool! You can tell he and everyone there is so passionate about watches.The cool thing is they have something for everyone! From watches under 5k to plenty of pieces north of 50k. All the employees are present and helpful and fun to just talk with. There is no cold sell them on the spot nor snobby atmosphere everyone who loves watches is welcomed with open arms.I happened to run into two buddies I had met at the first BostonRedBar meeting a few weeks ago (Shane ) and found out about the second meeting Tuesday, will be going for sure Anyway, just a fun experience trying on a bunch of great watches and narrowing down the li

Quit ofter do some of us ask how many ref XXX or ref YYY are made per year.The answer is that we don't know but we can try to make an educated guess.One thing we know is that Patek makes about 50.000 watches per year and that the biggest part , a bit over 30% I once read in an interview with Mr Stern, are the Twenty-4 for womanSimple watches like the Calatrava are for sure the second biggest groupSo this is a calculation I made, feel free to argueTwenty-4 ( a bit more than 30%) so let's assume about 17.000 piecesCalatrava (more or less 20%) 11.000 watchesGondolo 5000Nautilus , my guess �� 4000 per year ( to make is simple 1000 per complication so 1000 chrono's in all materials, 1000 simple 5711 in all materials, 1000 5712 and 1000 annual calendars)Annual calendar ( all references all materials) 3500Worldtime ( all references) 3500Chronographs 2400 in total ( ref 5960 in all materials about 1200, 5170 about 700 and 5270 about 500)Golden Elipse ( not very popular) also 1000 in all sizes

maybe a stupid question
so i bought my SS sub date in Dec. and i have read a few times on here about how fast the date changes on the new rolexs and what not.so on new years i thought it would be cool to film in the date change at midnight in slow-mo, well i did just that but my date did not change at midnight i waited 30 or so secs before i gave up and then popped the crown thinking maybe somehow i screwed up and set it wrong but as soon as i popped my crown the date changed.i have had no problems with this watch at all... its been a champ runs -1 sec a day im very happy.just wondering if it should be changing the date at midnight or not?thanksMike
