Marathon General Purpose Mechanical LE Review
This little watch with military pedigree overcomes its small size and impresses with quality construction and wearability. When Marathon announced they were releasing a steel-cased remake of one of their military issued watches, I was excited to see what they had come up with.? When they said it would be a numbered limited edition, featuring new, old-stock Benrus-signed ETA 2801 manually-wound movements, I was even more excited. To finally see and wear the finished product is a treat, and one I'm happy to now share with our readers. Here's the Marathon General Purpose Mechanical.IntroductionAs discussed in our article about the Marathon Navigator, Marathon has been making watches for the US and Canadian armed forces for a few decades.? One of those was the GG-W-113 pilot's watch.? Produced in limited number in the mid-1980s, the Marathon GG-W-113 differs from other watches made under this specification by Hamilton and Benrus, the main difference being the large, curved case with integr
AP 15450ST Concerns?
I've had a 15300 before and kinda regret selling it. However the bracelet always felt a tad too wide for my 6,3 wrist. Been researching about this 15450 but had some fears that it would be too small, bracelet too dainty, hard hit on the resale value bla bla bla. Today I pulled the trigger on a white dialed 15450st. It is none of what I feared it would be. It is not too small and bracelet fit was amazing. It wears almost like my 39mm explorer 1. So you folks who has been considering this size but had fears and concerns, dont worry. This 15450 is a timeless piece done right. Unless of course you're 7 foot tall with 7 wrist. But yea I'll post some pics that hopefully might enable some of you to grab one too.
Ap Diver vs. VC Overseas
Happy Holidays all,I'm close to taking the plunge on my first AP - the Diver in steel. But two other contenders jumped into consideration. Disregarding the rest of my collection, as a watch in of itself, which of the three do you recommend. All are similar prices.1. AP Diver Steel 2. Vacheron Overseas Automatic White Dial3. Vacheron Overseas Dual Time Grey Titanium with leather strapMy thinking so far:AP Diver: Big chunk of steel. Classic Royal Oak looks only blown up. Durable and chunky strap. Wore large on me - almost like a 45 or 46mm. Heard it's a scratch magnet.VC Automatic White on Bracelet: Beautiful Giiulloche dial. Pretty good water resistance and comfortable bracelet. Doubles up a bit on my white nautilus (5726) . And very shiny, much more than I thought. VC Overseas Dual Time (AKA: Deep Strem) : More subdued than the white dial and more scratch resistant bezel. Beautiful strap integration. Wears smaller than the AP but not too small. Excellent dial confi
Patek 5726 question
Have a chance to purchase this with the black dial. Is this watch typically a non-discounted watch? What's the general consensus on it as far as holding its value and being sought after? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think I֪ getting tired of my White Ceramic Daytona
Hey TRF Fam! I have had my 116500LN White Dial for about a year now and you know, I think I֪ getting tired of it. The hype of having it I think got to me but now I have realized that 1. Not a chronograph guy and 2. I think I prefer divers. I currently have a BLNR, Hulk, SD43, Rolex Skydweller Blue Dial, and a Rose Good Datejust. My question is if I sell my Daytona, what should I get next? Cause at this point I think it time for Daytona to go and go to a better home.
