FakeWatchBuster: Most Common Fake Watches & Other Stories
Busting fake watches is his game and FakeWatchBuster is his name. Below, we interview the FakeWatchBuster himself, learning about the most common replica watches he sees, how to spot a fake watch for yourself, and what drives him to dishonor those people who wear and share fake timepieces. In writing "The Truth About Replica Watches," you probably already know how I feel about fakes.A sensation among pop culture followers and watch lovers alike, the mission of the anonymously named FakeWatchBuster is to call out peopleCmostly celebritiesCwho post pictures of themselves wearing fake and replica watches online, mostly on social media sites such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. The FakeWatchBuster does it with humor and he does it with wit, but he is also merciless in his delivery of justice. He calls himself the "horological Batman" and he is the hero in the night calling out the criminals of copying who would have you believe they are wearing authentic watches. If anything, the FakeW
Seiko Power Design Chronograph SBPP003/SBPP001 Watch
Each year, Seiko holds a contest called the Power Design Project. I don't know all the details, but I believe it involves a contest among Seiko designers (and maybe other designers as well) in Japan to design cool new concept watches. Often times, many of the designs are very sober and classic - less wildly futuristic. Seiko actually produces some of the winning designs each year. Most of these pieces are limited in production and only sold in Japan, but you can get them online. One of my favorite Power Design Project watch models from the last few years that was actually produced is this Ref. SBPP003 (white dial) or SBP001 (black dial). It looks like a combo between a sport Seiko, Tag Heuer Carrera, and an Omega Speedmaster. It is quite thin at about 10mm thick, and 40mm wide (in steel). The dial comes in black or white - each matched to a black bezel. The piece is handsome and easy to like. Nothing wild here, save for a nicely polished design with both modern and vintage looking accent
Help: Is this Audemars Diver ok?
Hey guys,I'm along time lurker on the rolexforums and I'm looking for a long time to buy an Audemars Diver. Now I'm about to pull the trigger on this Diver tomorrow. As I'm not an expert in Audemars watches, I would be happy if you could tell me if this used Diver is ok. The seller is a professional seller but doesn't know if the watch was already serviced. The watch was originally sold in 2011 but only worn a few times as the seller states.I asked for some detailed pictures. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.Regards, Veit from Germany
price increase jan 2nd 2013?
I heard from a couple different sources that AP plans on hitting the US with a price increase the day after newyears.. has anyone else heard of this? The problem is, i have had a watch on order for the past 3 months and it has not come in, I have paid for 90% of the watch and now I fear getting hit with a price increase which is unfair I think.. I will just cancel my order if thats the case. Not going to pay for AP making me wait on a watch that i have been ready to buy for months.
Houston We Have a BIG Problem!!
So i'm sure many of you remember last week I had purchased an AP Legacy and posted several pictures of it. Well, over the weekend I was only wearing it around the house and because of it's HUGE 48mm size, the ceramic octagonal crown was digging into my wrist and hurt because of the sharp point. I could'nt screw down the crown anymore to change the angle and if I tried to unscrewed it a bit to change the angle of the crown and to make it not be so uncomfortable, i feared water would get in it and didn't want to take such a big risk with such a $$ watch. Another negative about the watch is, the bullet proof strap was starting to frey a bit, and i could only imagine what it would look like after a couple of months... also, the strap isn't waterproof because of the leather underside of the strap, so I could never swim with it or shower or anything.. it would be just a once in a while watch which I already own in my collection.. I really loved it so much, but these were things that hit me w
