Watches NEWS
BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends April 25, 2014
For the end of April, we check out more watches that were debuted at Baselworld 2014, including Tissot's new solar-powered T-Touch, Patek Philippe's new steel Annual Calendar Chronograph and more. We also review Omega's ground-breaking Seamaster Aqua Terra 15,000 Gauss watch and talk about the new watch certification, Observatoire Chronometrique+. Finally, we round off by chatting with Seiko CEO Shinji Hattori, and find out how Rolex is staying relevant in this high-tech digital age.1. Girard-Perregaux Constant Escapement L.M. Watch In Pink Gold Hands-OnLast year, Girard-Perregaux amazed the world with its Constant Escapement L.M. watch. It is?not everyday that one sees a whole new escapement design, much less one that was designed to work as a constant force escapement and one that was crafted out of high-tech silicon. This year, Girard-Perregaux is offering its breakthrough watch in pink gold and we thought it was a good chance for us to get reacquainted with this breathtaking watch.
Should I?
Not long time ago I bought a Rolex Explorer II 42mm polar. Right now I only have two watches, Explorer and Deep Sea, the DSSD is my favorite one. Long time ago, I had a Breitling B1 Super Quartz, I loved it but was obly 30 meters...So here is the thing, do you think I'll do right if I sell the Explorer and buy the new Breitling Avenger 2 Chrono (grey/brown dial) with bracelet and maybe later leather and rubber. If I do that, I'll keep more than 1k in my pocket, but I don't do it thinking in money. I like the Breitling for few reasons:DateSteel300 metersCrhono that can be used underwaterDatePossibility to change straps (with Rolex I will not do it, I don't feel good)Really important, INDEPENDENT BRAND! Is that a watch for a hardly use?Best regards
Almost ready to make the jump
Hey guys,I've had my Rolex Yachtmaster Platty 16622 for a while now and I'm almost ready to make the jump to Patek. And I need your help. For a while now the nautilus 5711/1a-011 has been my grail, but I've started to develop doubts. I know its really hard to say without trying the on the watch, but I feel its going to be a bit too big on my 6.5inch wrist, the 40mm rolex feels and looks great on me (pic below). For the above reason I've started to consider a 5167A-001. How does the feel and fit on this one compare to the nautilus? Im really attracted as well to the rubber strap and the posibility of having the steel one as well, something I've been trying for my YM but havent been able to acomplish this. Final question: should I go for the 5711 or the 5167? I just want an upgrade on my YM that I could use for ideally the rest of my life. Thanks!
New World Timers Baselword 2016
In light of the fact that the current 5130 versions will be run out models this year what can we expect as replacements? I for one can't wait to see what will appear on the new faces maybe sun maybe moon maybe combination or how about an ss version to really stir things up - can't wait to see them.
