Top 10 Space-Themed Watches
Be it space or spaceship, the watches below are some of the coolest modern watches which honor or make actual use of elements far from the Earth. Imaginative watchmakers use meteorite dials or design their cases and movements to look like spaceships. We love this stuff and as traditional as watchmaking is, these timepieces are directly inspired by science and science fiction. Oh, and we?aren't?including watches that track the motion of planets or the sky. Those are typically more related to calendar watches, and should be part of a distinct list.Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo-Soyuz Limited EditionAs a limited edition of 1,975 pieces,?Omega produced the limited edition Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo-Soyuz version of the Moonwatch in 2010. Celebrating the US + USSR space mission in the mid 1970s, this beautiful version of the Omega Speedmaster Professional has a meteorite face and subdials. Meteorite, of course, comes from space and is further extremely beautiful on watches

It's Been A Long Weekend......
Have a cool watch incoming which was to be on my wrist on Friday but didn't end leaving till Sat...very frustrating but it's on it's way now, so exciting times are ahead. On another note are any of you guys going to the watch & jewelry show in downtown Brooklyn on Monday/Tuesday. Let me know if you'd like to meet up at the great smorgasbord of watches. 🍻
40 Hr Power Reserve on 15202
What have people's experiences been with the 40 hours of PR from the 15202? Specifically, from people who are coming from the standard Rolex 40 hour. Having two watches in my rotation now, 45 (Speedy) and 48 (BLNR), it was an adjustment going to those after having a daily wearer of the Omega PO 8500, which had 60. I am worried that when looking at the 15202 that, it will another adjustment going to 40. Essentially this would be my weekend watch, a spot currently occupied by the BLNR, so it's not a huge issue, but just curious. I am guessing the wear for a day, leave off for a day, and then wear again would involve some resetting and winding?
Speedmaster Questions
I tried on a Speedmaster Professional at a local AD today. Wow, what a great watch. I loved checking it out after having seen them on the 'net so much. I tried on the model with sapphire crystal, display back and leather strap -- I believe that is the 3873.50.31. I really liked it. Here are a few questions for the speedmaster aficianados out there:1. What do you think of the display back? I'm drawn to it because it's an extra feature and the decorated movement looks cool. But, I've had display backs before and I rarely take a watch off to actually look at the movement. I wonder if it is worth the money to have the display back, especially considering the differences from the more historically accurate speedmaster pro -- i.e., sapphire v. hesalite and 861 v. 1861 movement. I read that the 1861 swapped out some stronger plastic parts for aesthetic reasons. I think the hesalite and 861 are better, but that display back is cool.2. Is $3900 less 10% a good price from an AD. See
