Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Memovox International
At SIHH Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced a modern version of the Master Memovox International, originally created for the brand's 125th anniversary in 1958 and also known as the Memovox Worldtimer. The alarm disk on this Memovox (“voice of memory”) features different cities and regions. This piece will be produced in two limited editions in 18-carat pink gold and in steel. These new versions are fitted with the company's Calibre 956, which is the direct descendant of JLC’s Calibre 815, the first automatic movement with alarm introduced in 1956. This is a rare example of a movement that's still in production more than 50 years after its creation, though many improvements have been added over the years. In 1959, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 825 added a date aperture at 3 o'clock. In 1970 the Calibre 916 replaced its swinging weight by a 360 winding rotor and increased the balance frequency from 21,600 vph to 28,800 vph, which has become the norm for precision watches. In 19
Video Interview With Hublot's Jean-Claude Biver At Baselworld 2013
I don't miss a chance to spend time with Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot, and honorary godfather of the modern luxury watch industry. While we do spend time talking about new Hublot watches and some of the interesting things that happened at the Baselworld 2013 watch showI am pretty sure that Mr. Biver would be entertaining even if he was talking about bathroom cleaning products. Thanks as always to Jean-Claude for his time and charisma. Learn a bit more how watch marketing is done well by watching the video. Also, we discuss the Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari that you can learn more about via our hands-on article here. hublotwatches-dealer
Ulysse Nardin Sonata Silicium is very popular
A Google search Silicon. You will find 1 500 000 results for this most common of the metalloids, otherwise known as the Silicon (Si14). Starting at number 11, you will find related to watchmaking results (these research results are updated, February 2009). It is remarkable, considering that Silicon has a wide variety of industrial uses and does not even figure in watch until the end of the 20th century. What is even more remarkable is how much coverage a mark, Ulysse Nardin, has managed to get on this subject, forever linking the mark with equipment.
5980/1ar vs. 5711 dial colour
I dont know if this is worthy of a new thread but is the blue dial the same colour for both? I havent seen a 5711 IRL to compare.
Which Chronograph would you choose?
I'm not sure if this has been discussed previously but just for fun....I would like to ask the nice members of this Patek forum a simple question. (if there is such a thing when it involves buying a Patek)Assume for a moment that what you have in your collection is irrelevant to the question and that both are priced about the same. What would you pick if given a choice of either a Patek 5070G or the new 5170G Black dial? Why?I have been beating my brains up for a while and still cannot pick a clear choice. Thanks in advance for your responses.
