AP ROC advice
Would you buy an AP watch serviced and polished by an unauthorized watch dealer? I am looking to buy a AP ROC 26300 silver dial (39mm). I found one for $13K, but it doesn't come with box/papers. AND its been serviced/polished by this watch guy himself, and that makes me hesitate to pull the trigger. Am I thinking too much?
Another First Time Omega Owner!
If honest I've never really paid too much attention to Omega - until I saw the Sedna gold Seamaster Planet Ocean! I really liked this piece and, when via a contact from a good chum on TRF I was offered a decent deal on one, I went for it.I love it, its a superb piece. Big, yes, but I'm used to, and like, big watches and, in all honesty, it doesn't feel big on the wrist. The ceramic dial is lovely too, with a beautiful shine, which the double AR'd crystal exposes to good benefit. Its certainly made me a potential fan of Omega and I appreciate the fact that you get more for your money than with Rolex, a brand which in my view is over priced and over hyped. The Omega presentation is awesome too. The fantastic wooden case is way better quality than Rolex and I'd even say better than with AP.
The times, they are a'changin
Some of you are old enough to remember Dylan singing(?) that song back in the '60s.Well two years ago, I made extensive changes in my collection and feel the urge to do so again. There are a couple of watches I have been eying. One is a watch I sold in the last renovation and have the opportunity to buy back. The other is a replacement for my EXPII sans Cyclops. So if there is anything on my list that interests you, I suggest you keep an eye on the sales corner. How about you, do you feel the urge to change some things?Fr. John?
So I went to my local AD today and they are not...
....interested in selling any watches! I won't mention any names or anything but check my sig and you can probably figure out which AD. I have been looking for a 3570.50 for a while and have been quoted a great price thanks to some advice from a few members on here, but I wanted to give a local dealer a chance first. Not only was I given very little help but once I made an offer I was treated kind of rudely by one salesperson. I guess my earlier purchases didn't bear any weight either (as well as my dirty jeans, boots and ball cap appearance) as I was told that they were not allowed to discount Omega in fear of getting in trouble. When I told the sales lady what I had been quoted from another out of state AD she felt like she needed to give me a class on buying a nice watch! Oh well!! The only thing I really asked for was to save me the taxes off the price they had on the watch which is still a few hundred over what I had been quoted by the other AD. Maybe I came across rude t
Serial # and manufacture date
I just purchased a no date sub ref # 14060 caliber 3000 with a serial # beginning in U. Does the U serial # correspond to a manufacture date?
