So, in January I ordered a grey leather hornback strap from AP. I did this as I've never been a big fan of the rubber strap for comfort. It arrived after just 7 months! and today I went to have it put on my watch. My first surprise was that it wasn't a hornback as requested and my second surprise was that it wasn't the finish on the leather that I'd requested either. However, I'm actually pretty happy with the result. So here's a photo, the most important thing that they got perfect is the Leo Messi grey that I ordered, in the photo it's hard to tell but it's actually a perfect match with the grey dial.
Omega PO vs. Girard Perragaux Seahawk, anyone with experience?
I am currently looking to add to my collection and have settled on one of these two choices. I am looking at preowned and found a 42mm Omega PO (orange bezel) and 42mm Girard Perragaux Seahawk II with the reserve de marche feature. I very much like the look of both and prices are similar (PO is a little cheaper but it is on rubber and the Seahawk is on metal hence the slightly higher cost of the Seahawk). My daily wearer now is a no date sub so I would be sharing wrist time with that. I like sport watches, and I'm looking for something that I can wear with OR scrubs and jeans/casual, so it doesn't have to be a watch for all seasons. I have a dress watch when called for. I swim with my watch but I don't dive with it, so differences in water resistance aren't a big concern. My only experience with either brand is a 1950s seamaster I own which is obviously a different beast. Anyone have experience with both and some recommendations? Thanks.
40MM Pam for smaller wrists?
I know there aren't any current Luminars being made at 40 MM.Were there any popular ones from the past though?I love the California dial Radiomirs very much, and only wish they had that dome crystal on a 40mm size. Sadly they only make them at 47mm I believe. Was there one made at a smaller size in the past with a domed acrylic crystal?Any guys out there with smaller wrists that have a small sized PAM?I have tried the bigger ones, and even though I understand they are meant to have a big look, they just look funny on my very tiny wrists.Cheers guys!
