Citizen Donates $1.3 million to Japanese Disaster Relief
Citizen is donating $1.3 million to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster relief effort. Citizen Watch Company of America, Inc., (COA), encompassing the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, has already donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross, earmarked for the Japanese effort. Citizen Holdings Co., Ltd. has announced an additional donation of one hundred million yen ($1.25 million). Citizen is headquartered in Tokyo, with offices, factories and employees throughout Japan, said Laurence Grunstein, President, Citizen Watch Company of America, Inc. Our thoughts are with them, along with the millions of other people affected by this terrible disaster. The COA group has selected the American Red Cross as the recipient of their donation because of their ability to act swiftly in communities affected by the tsunami and earthquake in Japan. Their focus is to support relief work to meet critical needs. Citizen Holdings Co., Ltd. will announce their designated charities sepa
This or That - Playing Field Leveled
So I had a chance to stop by the NYC AP Boutique...yet again. And the lovely people there had both a new 15400 and a new 15300 (with the updated clasp and bracelet). So for me it's now all about which size is best for me. I don't really have much of an opinion about dial design but I do think that if I went for a 15300 I'd look for a white dial with the updated clasp/bracelet as it makes the watch look a little bigger (Mike's continuous barrage of pics also helps)Here are the pics. I hate you all for pushing me into the awesome and expensive world of Audemars Piguet.
Consolidating 5167 and BLNR for 5164?
I may now have an opportunity to get a 5164... and wanted to solicit a few opinions on here.If I were to get the 5164, I would sell both my 5167 and BLNR to fund it. With prices on the latter two being very nice these days, I would have to add a few thousand in cash for the 5164.The 5167 currently gets a lot of wear, whereas it's somewhat hard for me to fit the BLNR in my rotation. With a suit, I mostly rotate between the 15202 and 5167, and on weekends I prefer to wear the Hulk. I'm also not a huge fan of the PCLs on the BLNR, so a culmination of those factors means that it gets worn seldomly (even though I love the way it looks.)With the 5164, I feel like I can get the best of both worlds - a super comfortable travel time piece that can work with a suit, to shorts and a t-shirt. Plus, it's actually more under the radar than the Rolex while travelling. It also has a cleaner look compared to the 5167 without the date window.Would others around here do it?
Panerai Carbotech release date
Hi,Anyone here know when the Carbotech is going to hit the stores...I have been waiting to see one in person and would have thought it should be out by now.It is surprising to see new releases like the 577 whereas the watches launched at the beginning of the year are nowhere to be seen...Cheers,Abner
Something in Lume Pearl?
Ok, is this even possible, something permanent in the lume pip pearl?Just picked up the watch from my AD today and here it is later in the day and I'm really starting to study it. I had noticed what I thought was lint or a thread on the pearl earlier today, but didn't think much of it. Now home and trying to wipe it off and I think the sucker is somehow in the actual pearl. I'm happy to have been able to walk in and buy a Hulk, so it's not going anywhere. I'm just surprised to see this thing. I want to keep rubbing away on it, but I don't think it's going anywhere.Ever seen anything like this?
