Each year at the Baselworld watch and jewelry show the most anticipated news is what behemoth watch brand Rolex will release. This is a quizzical thing because what Rolex announces is often anything but revolutionary. Still the successful and closed watch brand seems to excite their loyalists with the new creations each year - often times small steps in anticipated directions. Rarely does Rolex offer something totally new - especially a new model or complication. Oddly enough - both of these things happened for 2012.Rolex typically releases mere line extensions and small features updates (if that). My 4th Omega in 3 months?
It all stared a couple of months ago when I sold my Omega America's Cup on TZ to Charlie Hustle (who is VERY happy with it!) I then purchased a beautiful Aqua Terra white face with rose gold markers on TZ and I really liked that beautiful co-axial movement I admired through the exhibition caseback but it just did not smile at me... sold it again on TZ and then it was time to buy the classic SMP Chrono which I got almost like new you guessed it... on TZ. I was looking for another classic to add to my humble collection when along came Dapper Dan with a GMT 50th Anniversary for sale on TZ... which I am now the proud owner of!Here are the pics guys hope you like them and more will follow once the watch is in my possession... If the Aquanaut doesn't suit me, will the Aquanaut Travel Time suit me?
Hello,You may remember that a couple weeks ago I posted that I wanted to get a PP 5164A - Aquanaut Travel Time. In pictures, it's an amazing watch but I've never tried it on myself. Just from looking at it, it seems like a watch I'd love, but again, I've never tried it on.I have however tried on the rose gold version. The strap wasn't sized though and I couldn't really get a feel for it. Additionally, I just tried on original Aquanaut and didn't necessarily love it either. At least trying on the Aquanaut fit me though and I could get a feel for the watch. I understand the Aquanaut is a completely different watch than the TravelTime but am concerned that if if I buy it sight unseen, I may not love it and I have to love a watch I wear. I can't seem to find the 5164A anywhere to try on so if I want it, I don't think I have a choice but to try it sight unseen. Wanted to throw this over to you guys and get your take. I know it's my choice at the end of the day but was wondering how
