U.S. Supreme Court Will Examine Costco Sale of Omega Watches
In a case that could have wide-ranging implications for so-called “gray-market” goods, the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether manufacturers can use U.S. copyright law to prevent their foreign-made goods from appearing on web sites and store shelves at U.S. discounters such as Costco, Amazon, Target, and others. The case began in 2004 after Costco sold 43 Omega Seamasters for $1299, then about $700 below Omega’s MSRP. Omega originally sold the watches to authorized agents located outside the U.S. The agents sold the watches to unidentified parties who sold them to a U.S.-based company that sold them to Costco.Omega sued, claiming that Costco’s actions constituted copyright infringement. Omega claims copyright protection based on the fact that the “Omega Globe Design” logo engraved on the caseback is registered with the copyright office. Trouble with AP repair service
Heres the skinny:I bought my ROO about 9 months ago. It stopped keeping time well so I took it to my authorized dealer and they sent it to AP for repair. This was on 5/30/13. I received a call from the AP repair center stating that the reason for my watch problems was compression damage that voided my warranty. So I have to pay $2000 to repair a watch I just bought. To make things worse, they said it would take 3 months to repair. Just called them today to get an update and now they say watch wont be ready until mid September!This cant be right!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone else had similar experiences with AP and their repair services. Am I getting screwed here...cuz it sure feels like it!

30m water resistance question
Hello everyone! I wanted to get your insights on something I've been wondering about lately. I own a Patek 5960P (chronograph) with a 30m water resistance rating. Setting aside potential damage to the strap, I am wondering if this watch is capable of being worn in the shower? Everything I've read indicates that a 30m resistance is capable of withstanding rain, splashing, and accidental brief submersion, so I assume that the shower would be fine?In interest of full disclosure, I do wear this watch on a rubberized strap (similar to the Aquanaut) during hot weather months. Often times, I would like to take it into the shower to give it a clean and rinse to erase the sweat and grime that can quickly build up on it. However, I certainly don't want to run the risk of damaging such an expensive piece.Any thoughts?
