Watches NEWS
Porsche Design Indicator Watch is readable
Originally, the watch Crown should resemble a wheel with tires on it. But held back. The Porsche Design Indicator watch is out a few years earlier at the time where the Porsche Carrera GT supercar is out. It was supposed to be a companion piece. The rubber on the watch strap has a tire design of bearing inside which was supposed to be tread tire of the Carrera GT wheels. A super Chronograph, accompanying a super car. The idea was that it is ultra easy to read while driving a car very fast.Eterna really surpassed themselves with this piece. Easily among their list of masterpieces. I felt really lucky to be a check out the shows, and I thank Eterna for this. Are there watches more like that? Probably, but probably not in the foreseeable future. With the slowdown of the economy, the demand for watches, as this is much lower. Until then, the Porsche Design Indicator will remain a wonderful and exotic novelty for those lucky enough to afford a. If you can, I highly recommend it.
Vintage Ladies Diamond Cocktail Watch
Hey everybody. I have a nice vintage ladies Audemars Piguet diamond cocktail watch. I was just wondering if anyone could help me identify it & maybe estimating it's worth?I cannot even find an image of this watch online. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Does anyone know much about these Speedies
Seen one of these a while back and tried to find out some info. The case model is 144.022, 1971 ish with a moon landing case back and an 861 movement. I fired a note to watchco in OZ ages ago as they did have some NOS dial/ Bezels for this model. They said it was made in rather limited numbers but beyond that were not that helpful, anyone seen these before and know much about them?.Thank you in advanceDave
New to me . . this little thing
Owner of many many Pams since early 2000s . . but lost the excitement with the brand (like many others have unfortunately). Also, decided that 47mm was not for me anymore and sold my last Pam 372 a year or so ago. Despite this I would always say Panerai is my favorite watch brand and the 372 was possibly my favorite watch I've owned. I'm not financially fortunate enough to keep lots of watches in a safe deposit, never to be worn, so it had to go. Anyway, moving on... I've always quite fancied the 512 since it came out. When I got the opportunity to have one at the right price I grabbed it. They are quite rare in the UK for some reason. Very few come up for sale. Enjoying wearing this one. So 'svelte', hardly know you have it on but still has enough Panerai presence. Loving the manual wind . . and then there's being back in the strap changing game !
Settled on 16610 over SubC after owning both
I started with a new SubC 114060 about 3 months ago. The build quality was amazing. The bracelet and clasp were the best I'd ever seen. For some reason however, something bothered me about it. In the end, I just couldn't learn to love the fat lugs and how they didn't flow properly in to the bracelet. After doing a few trades and sales, I ended with a near NOS 16610 date sub that still had stickers on the case. The only thing missing is the box. I've owned a few older GMTs and Explorer2s and always thought this generation was somewhat flimsy but wore so comfortably. This is my first time handling a NOS one and the build quality is pretty good. Even the bracelet is solid. I'm guessing they were all this way at first until stretch kicks in. Either way, this one seems better suited to my wrist (at least in my mind anyways). I know it doesn't have the ceramic bezel and the technology but I like it more. Only thing I don't like is the clasp that seems to bulge out. If I can source a GMT clasp
