Finalists For The 2014 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve Announced, Public Vote Now Open (Where You Can Win A Girard-Perregaux!)
It's that time of year! Yup, the finalists of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG) have been announced. For those who don't remember, the GPHG is the watch industry's equivalent of the Academy Awards, wherein a group of distinguished judges comprised of collectors (think John Goldberger and John Mayer), retailers (think Laurent Picciotto), watchmakers (think Philippe Dufour) and journalists (think our own Ben Clymer) decide on who has done the most to advance watchmaking this year. Today, the finalists for each category have been announced. The winners will be announced on Friday, October 31st, 2014, in Geneva. The entire ceremony will be streamed live right here on HODINKEE.Click here to see the finalists for the 2014 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG). BONUS: The public prize, decided by YOU, is also now open for voting, and once you register, you can win a Girard-Perregaux worth over $10,000 right here.
Daytona is to Rolex...
Hi,Quick question your thoughts...SS Daytona is to Rolex...5711/5712 is to PP???? is to API'm basing it on the fact that the watches are highly sought after, somewhat exclusive, and demands a healthy premium in the grey market. Thanks!
Vintage Navitimer Chronology: A must read collectors guide for Navitimer hunters
For those interested in adding vintage Navitimers to your collection, here's must read research on Vintage Navitimers by a respected Navitimer researcher/collector, Kurt Broendum, who also published his research in the British Horological Society Journal some months ago, enjoy!.watchlife/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=144and copy of the British Horological Society Journal research paper herekurt-b/publication-of-my-...ogical-journalAnd whist we are at it, do post pictures of your vintage Navitimers! Here's my only vintage Navitimer, a 1955 pre 806 Valjoux 72 AOPA Navitimer, made for about 1 year in 54-55 with the Valjoux 72 for .aopa.org/ and that lead to the Navitimer line being a great Pilots favourite. This first series is also called the Broendum Breitling, for Kurts research on Navitimers!

After being away from all the forums for best part of 2014 I've just decided on my 2nd patek ( first was a 5167 last summer ).... incoming annual calender on its way :-)
Question re: Getting bracelet re-sized (NYC)
If I were to buy a 5711 online will Patek Service Ctr in NYC re-size it for no fee? If there is a fee, how much will they charge? Also, how long will it take? Thanks in advance
