LUM-TEC Watches With Brighter Than Super Luminova, "MDV" Luminant Now On Sale
Here is a new American based watch maker that is worth a look. They have something special that makes them stand out a bit more than other new brands. LUM-TEC has a special type of luminant that they claim is at least three times brighter than Super Luminova, the luminant that is applied on most Swiss watches with illuminated hands and indexes. Instead, LUM-TEC has apparently been working on this new type of luminant that they have been applying to customized watches for a while. Now they've taken all their expertise to release a growing line of sharp look, good value watches. These aren't mechanical watches, but it is a good start for the company. Prices are all well under $400 ($315 for the M3 and $365 for the M4 model), and you get a lot for your money. chronograph movements, high grade 316L steel cases, sapphire crystals, and of course the LUM-TEC luminant. Two of their watches are finally shipping, with many more on the way soon. The are the M3, and its PVD coated sibling, the M4.
Watch for my wife
To try to make up for a number of missed gift occasions, I had the idea that I might get my wife an AP RO. She's quite small, so I'm looking at the 33mm or 37mm ROs. However, visiting the AD and taking a look at the models they had left me a bit underwhelmed. Perhaps because it was swaddled in a quick layer of plastic, the 33mm 67650 just looked and felt a bit cheap - also, buying a quartz AP doesn't quite sit right with me. The 37mm 15450 was more appealing, but also didn't really sing to me (mind, I didn't have a chance to check out the new blue dial, which looks great in photos).I'm now thinking I should also take a look at the PP 7118. I would be interested in other members' thoughts on AP ROs for women, the 7118, or suggestions of other brands/models I should be looking at. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

114060 price increase and scarcity
I've noticed that the submariner no date has increased in price and is more desirable than ever. All steel sports Rolex are hard to get lately but it's a lot more rare to see a 114060 in the grey market these days. Interesting. BTW I LOVE THIS WATCH!IMG_0362.JPGSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
2018 Rolex price increase
I was in a large jewelry store/Rolex AD today. The sales person stated that Rolex will put thru a 10% price increase in the US shortly on all Rolex watches.Has anyone else heard this?By the way, he had just received a small shipment of Stainless Submariners with date and no date. He was out of stock last week.
