Weekend Report: The Opera House Cup In Nantucket With Panerai
This year marked the 10th year of Panerai's sponsorship of the 43rd annual Opera House Cup Regatta in Nantucket. The Opera House Cup Regatta is an annual race for classic wooden yachts that takes place in the waters off Nantucket; it gets its name from the Opera House Restaurant, whose owner, Gwen Gaillard, came up with the idea for the regatta  in 1973, after hearing local sailors lament the absence of a regatta for classic wooden-hull yachts. In the subsequent four decades it's evolved to become one of the most spectacular exhibitions of sailing yachts in the world; I had the opportunity to go out and watch the regatta with Panerai and it was truly a sight to behold (see pictures below).This year's regatta featured 55 registered yachts that participated in the Cup.  Among the boats were a number of classic yachts of all different sizes. Pam90 Date Change
I just had a horrible experience with my Pam90 which brings me to question what I did wrong.I pulled my watch out of my box and wound it to about 50%. I then set the time to 9:30 pm. I then tried to change the date. The date wheel kept getting stuck halfway through the change. I didn't have a problem changing the date by advancing the time 24 hours though.I then changed the time, setting it forward a few hours and then tried to change the date again. No luck.I tried this several times thinking that maybe I just didn't have the crown in the right position. Got to a point where the date wheel was stuck halfway and wouldn't budge at all. I then cycled the time by 24 hours and the date didn't change at all like it had done before. Kept advancing the time and on the 3rd cycle the date changed. I then advanced the time to 12 noon and then the date changed worked fine...I then tried to change the date using the hour hands again and now the date changes at 3 am and not midnight...Any
