My First AP Experience
I went to a local AP AD while visiting my parents in Naples, FL today.I never saw an AP Royal Oak 15400 in person and had to try one on. Before I had seen it in person, I was skeptical of what others had seen in this watch. The pictures did not thrill my soul or create the I must have this - I NEED THIS! syndrome that I have been inflicted with when seeing other watches on line. As I took off my newly acquired Hulk and placed the silver dial RO on my wrist, I became enamored with this exquisite timepiece. The watch and I took to each other the way Thor and his hammer must have when they first met.Now, the dilemma has set in. I have found my grail (or maybe it has found me) and have to think about how I can eventually acquire one. I know that of the 4 Rolex watches I own, the EXP II would be the first to go. Rubber Strap for my SMPC
Hey guys, just bought and fitted this today. Sorry for the quality of the photo, just a quickie to show the strap.I'm very happy with it as it dresses down the Seamaster a tad which goes better with jeans etc plus I can always put the bracelet back on when needed. For those interested, the strap was bought from an Omega Boutique and is the 98000085 reference number, with Omega pin and buckle ref 94512012.
Quick Question about my Speedy
Is it bad to have the chrono second hand stopped at a position other than 0 (rest) for an extended period of time?I like to leave the second hand on 8 when I wear it but I am always resetting it to zero at the end of the day. I do this because I like to have an unobstructed view of the dial and because 8 is my lucky number.So is it putting unnecessary strain on the movement to leave the chrono stopped at a certain point with the brake engaged?Thanks in advance.
16700 vs 16750: Which gets more love?
I've seen some respect for the GMT Master 16750,. It I get the impression that the 16700 gets a bit less attention. Am I wrong? I know that both models have the quickset date and I know that the 16750 has the acrylic crystal / matte dial, while the 16700 has the white gold lined indecies and sapphire crystal. What am I missing? Which is the superior reference in your opinion and why?
