Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Watch With "Liquidmetal" Ceramic Bezel
Why on Earth Omega would call a ceramic bezel "Liquidmetal" is a mystery to me (see update below). It not only is ceramic not liquid, but it isn't a metal. Well, it is liquid-like when being formed, but you get the idea. Ceramic as used on watches is actually made from glass as I understand it. It used to be that most bezels on dive watches were made from aluminum. Not sure why that is, but it is still very common. One approach to "luxurize" the bezel was the Blancpain approach of doing a bezel with a sapphire crystal over it. This prevented the scratching that people hate. This is really the problem with aluminum. Sure you can replace the bezels. but it is a pain, and not something you want to do when paying a lot for a diver's watch.(UPDATE): Turns out liquid metal is something else, not the ceramic part of the watch. This Longines conquest watch is from which came from other versions of the conquest. This watch is a very simple timepiece which has a very simple function. It is not as elegant and functional as their other timepieces, this Longines conquest still is a classic to have.

Quality Issues on new 15400??
Hi all,I bought my 15400OR new last month from a trusted source here and have had some issues with it. Nothing major but definitely something unexpected. 1. I had 2 of the octagonal screws come very loose. I had the tools at home to tighten all of them down where I noticed 2 more were starting to come loose. 2. I was wearing the watch yesterday, and the bar that holds my clasp almost fell out. I noticed the little screw to hold the bar and clasp in place had fallen out. Is this normal? I'm glad the bar didn't slide out completely where my watch would of fallen off my wrist. Who knows what could of happened then. I am hoping the AP Boutique in Beverly Hills can insert the RG screw on site and tighten everything else up.

Paper box
When you buy a watch from an AD, is it normal they take away the paper box(with the transparent window) if you cut open the plastic bag on the spot? Or I can request to keep it?I bought mine today but only realised after the fact that the AD kept the paper box

Is a 3235-powered Sub at Basel possible?
I was reading another forum blog the other day, and the suggestion was made that one of the releases at Basel will be a 3235 movement in the Submariner. As a side note, they also predicted that the GMT will get an updated movement from the 3186, a 32.. something. The more I thought about this it does kind of make sense, the 32 series is (suposedly) a substantially superior movement to the 3135 currently in there. And it has been a while (especially with the GMT, the 3185/6 has been used for many years) since we have had a serious movement update. Could Basel 2018 be the year that a lot of the innards of models are upgraded and not so many external changes? I was also wondering if the 3235 would fit in to a 40MM case, since it is used now in the DJ41(?). Will we see a sweeping upgrade this year of inner workings?
