Romain Jerome Tetris-DNA Watch
The newest classic video game-inspired watch from Swiss Romain Jerome (RJ) is the Tetris-DNA, and it serves as yet another homage to a great 1980s-era video game. Tetris was actually a soviet game created in Moscow during the time of the USSR. Romain Jerome has already graced us with watches inspired by Space Invaders, PAC-MAN, and now, Tetris. In the future, more video game-inspired watches will come from Romain Jerome - we can promise you that.Romain Jerome now calls watches such as this which use their Moon Invader case style to be "Generational Icons." Romain Jerome had some interesting success with the "Titanic-DNA" watch that contained some metal actually collected from the Titanic. Even though the Titanic-DNA watch collection was controversial, it did spawn a lot of "DNA" watches. The goal of each is, of course, to contain some material from something special. That isn't possible with every type of watch that celebrates a unique and often important cultural icon, so Romain Jerom
John Mayer On Watches: The Five Best Buys In Vintage Rolex, For $8,000 Or Less
“No more than eight thousand.” That’s the answer I always get when I ask a prospective vintage Rolex buyer what their price range is. Always Eight. Five isn’t enough to work with, and ten – well that’s just so… ten.I’ve helped so many of my friends and colleagues buy watches that are within the $8,000 range that I thought I’d share some of my recommendations with you. Take advice from a guy with a roll of mistakes he bought at the airport on a layover, me.John Mayer Obviously, you’re not making a mistake if you buy that new Panerai Luminor you’ve had your eye on, but it is a mistake if you buy one and then wish you’d been turned on to the unmistakable cool of a vintage Rolex earlier. Take it from a guy with a roll of lessons he bought at the airport on a layover. Here are five vintage Rolex references under $8,000, and why I believe they’re the best buys on the market. 1. Best place to buy Breitling?
I'm looking to pick up a super ocean 42 and was wondering if anyone has a seller they would recommend. My Rolex AD sells Breitling but I am looking for a bit more of a discount than they offer. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
2010 Basel predictions - Omega
Any thoughts?Whereas Rolex has kept us guessing about modifications to existing Models, Omega seems to give us something completely new each time (eg the Hour Vision)However the new Liquid Metal PO has my mouth watering...So what do you think it will be?Will the SMP get the liquid metal treatment?I would looove to see that in the classic blue...Maybe a more complicated hour vision? or further expansion of the Planet Ocean line?
Early 1990s Gold Submariner Question
I have my father's N serial number gold submariner which he purchased new from an AD in January, 1993. Several years ago, I took it to an AD to have the bracelet sized and they told me that the bracelet was fake because it had push pins instead of screws. My brother also took it to an AD for sizing years ago, and was told the same thing. I have all the paperwork from the purchase, as well as the warranty certificate. I generally despise AD's and the mouthbreathers that usually work there. So, I put it to the experts here. Did Rolex ever use push pins on their gold submariner bracelets?
