A. Lange & Sohne Factory Trip Part 2: The Luxury German Watch Manufacturing Process
Mysteries are things you can't unravel in your mind. Knowledge of origin is key to dispelling an enigma, and the pathway to appreciation. You can't have passion for something you don't really understand. I began my love of watches ignorant of what went into making most watches. True timepiece appreciation can only come when you really know what goes into constructing watches. It gives you the ability to evaluate the high quality from the mainstream, and foresight to look beyond the dial. This article is the second part of my A. Lange & Sohne Germany trip discussion. It has taken me longer to get to writing this than I would have preferred, but it has given me time to lets these facts ruminate. In the part I article covering my trip I left off talking about the history of the brand and describing the watch making region. We are ready to go into the heart of the manufacture, taking (some of)? the mystery out of the end result, and impressing upon you what really goes into making the f
Royal Oak 15400 -- Should I Buy?
Hi, I have been looking at a few different watches to buy to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of my company. I have always been drawn to the black face RO 15400 and I figure it will pair well one day with my dream watch-- a Patek 5726A. I was offered a price of 15,000 usd out the door from a (non-gray) dealer. This price seems to compete with gray market dealers and blows away all the other authorized dealers I talked to. For some reason I am hesitant. Maybe it was because the sales person at the boutique told me if I didn't service the watch every 3 years I would be in for a world of hurt. Is the 3120 capable of daily use. I don't abuse my watches but I also don't baby them. Any thoughts?
Anyone have an Omega Ploprof?
Anyone have one of these? They look awesome... wonder how they are for daily wear...As always, pics are appreciated

Hello folks,Found this site and am learning a lot of great info. I've had an addiction for Rolex since my father purchased a Sea Dweller in '93 as a retirement gift for himself. My first Rolex was (and still is) an R series 16600 Sea Dweller I purchased in '04, and this was followed by an M series 116520 SS Daytona white face in '09 when I turned 40. Somewhere in between I also acquired a Breitling Navitimer.I walked into my local AD last Monday and asked about the Deep Sea Blue, which apparently just came in - still in it's plastic coffin case. Today I pulled the trigger on it and will be getting it this week.Looking forward to reading more about these great timepieces.
