Technical Perspective: Stopping The Whirlwind: Four Tourbillons With Stop Seconds, And Why That Matt
One of the single most important features of watches intended to keep very accurate time is the presence of a stop seconds function. The single most important purpose of the tourbillon – as Breguet originally conceived it, certainly – is to make a watch more accurate. You would think therefore, in a rational universe, that you would see the tourbillon and a stop seconds function paired frequently, if not invariably . . . but you'd be wrong.First of all, let's talk tourbillon. The basic idea behind the tourbillon is pretty simple: it's a solution to a really old problem in watchmaking, which is that a watch will run very slightly faster, or slower, depending on what position it's in. Any information on Emergency 2?
Spoke to a salesperson at an authorized Breitling dealer and was told Emergency 2 is coming out next year but no details were shared. Any info on this?
Breitling Chronomat Question
I have a black face, stick marker Breitling Chronomat with a reference number of A13350. I have looked through all of the paperwork and the model is not referenced. I looked on Breitlingsource and my watch looks like the Chronomat GT, but does not have the diamond bezel. Did all of the GT's have the diamond bezels or is that simply the only reference shot that they have? Similiarly, on the Vitesse, do all have arabic numbers or are some stick markers? Any idea what one is worth at 95% on the original rubber strap with all boxes and papers? I have a trade offer and I don't want to get shafted. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
