Audemars Piguet Openworked Extra-Thin Royal Oak Limited Edition Watch
Now here is a watch that is going to be a pain for people to buy who want one. Little guys like this get wooed over when announced, a year or so seems to go by before any are actually released for sale, and then the wars begin about availability because they are so limited. With just 40 pieces to be available, expect a small fraction of that number to find their way into the United States. This is the Audemars Piguet Openworked Extra-Thin Royal Oak Limited Edition 40th Anniversary watch (ref. 15203PT.OO.1240PT.01) with a beautiful skeletonized movement and platinum case. Happy 40th anniversary Royal Oak (1972-2012).About two years ago Audemars Piguet released a watch that for me was the predecessor to this timepiece. It was the Royal Oak Skeleton watch that I discussed hands-on here. A very cool watch, the Royal Oak Skeleton was offered in steel and rose gold. It was highly esteemed and hard to get. Price was from about $30k - $45k. Now there is a much more limited and much more exclus
Patek Philippe Manufacturing Process has the best quality control
Not really my cup of tea that I prefer A Lange, AP or Breguet when it comes to Visual appeal for that kind of money, but I appreciate the craft and the history of the brand.Probably the best quality control in the industry.
Anyone else surprised not to see this on the PP website?
By this I mean the advanced research 5650G, I love it, unfortunately my AD's is already going to another client, and anyways can't justify getting another watch this year, the 5711 and Daytona will have already done a dent in my watch budget, but not too big, but the Vouti has been paid upfront 70% and still need to add 30% to get that bad boy, so adding the 30% plus 52.000 CHF for the Aquanaut on top is quite impossible this year, too bad as I really find it very interesting. How do you guys like it?https://.hodinkee/articles/th...anced-research
Back to Panerai- Incoming!
I've been without a Panerai for about a year and half now, so I thought it's about time for me to make my way back. I've always wanted to give the PAM 372 a try ever since I was bit by the PAM bug, but I was always hesitant about the size and other watches got in the way. I finally pulled the trigger yesterday and less than 24 hours later she is here! First impressions- I'm used to wearing 40mm Rolexes, so the size will take some getting used to. Luckily, I have 7 1/4 inch wrists and it seems to fit well on it. It's also super comfy for its size. This isn't the first time I've seen a PAM 372, but it's my first time handling it outside an AD and it sure gets better looking the longer you wear it. It's a real stunner in person. It's only been here for a few hours and I already have some Gunny and Bosphorus straps on the way
Is This Submariner Worth the Price?
HiDebating on buying a 16610 Submariner with Date from 2009 with box and papers for 6250. Apparently it has the engraved Rehaut and is a V serial if that makes any difference? Look forward to your advise. Many Thanks Daniel
