IWC Portuguese Hand-Wound Eight Days Watch: Upgrade In Simplicity
IWC Schaffhausen just recently released their third new model in the Portuguese lineup for the year, a line that looks to combine the love of travel and adventure with classic, elegant style. The latest model leaves no guesswork as to two of the major features - it's called the Hand-Wound Eight Days. The star of that model name would be the movement, of course. In this case, it's the 59215 calibre, which is a higher-beat movement (28,800 BPH). More intriguing (at least to me) is that 8 day (192 hour) power reserve. Bigger power reserves on automatics are nice, but when it comes to manually-wound pieces, it's something that makes life that much easier. With this model, IWC has created a watch you really only need to worry about winding once per week - though, if you're like me, small bits of winding end up occurring throughout the day.The manual movement also allows for a thinner profile, with the 43mm case coming in at a fairly svelte 12mm. With the three models launched for this line,

15300 help/advice?
Hey everyone, looking for some help in regards to an AP 15300. I'm turning 30 in a month and figure it's a good excuse for a new watch. I called a local watch shop, Govberg, and they happened to have a white dial G serial, preowned piece in stock for $12,750 (box no papers), Govberg 15 month warranty, and they say it's been serviced recently. I made my way down and tried it on. It's a great looking piece and extremely comfortable. I put a refundable deposit down to hold it. They said they'd need to talk to the manager about discounting. A quick search on the forum makes the price look competitive. What do you guys think about the price? Should I be looking at other models too (15400,15202)?Thanks in advance for the help
Breitling Emergency on BBC Top Gear
Did anyone catch tonight's show? I don't think it did Breitling any favours as he never got rescued. The beacon was picked up though!
Incoming Number 2...
No teaser this time, straight on with the show. Now some of my comments on other threads will make sense! I was fortunate enough to liberate this unworn from a collector. It's difficult to tell in the photos, but it has the fantastic blue strap also used on the 5235G.Unfortunately some of my other (non-Patek) pieces have bitten the dust, but I have absolutely no regrets!
