Basel Preview: Longines Twenty-Four Hours
In the 1950s Longines supplied watches to the Swiss national airline, Swissair. These timepieces, developed specifically for aviators, had a distinctive 24-hour dial. This feature met the needs of navigators who, at the time, had to determine the position of the aircraft and set up a flight plan. Longines will re-issue this watch with the official launch at Baselworld 2011. The new version has been given the name Longines Twenty-Four Hours. In 2009, Harry Hofmann, a retired navigator from the old Swissair, visited the Longines Museum. He took advantage of this visit to present the company with a Longines watch that he used to wear when he was working for Swissair. This watch is one of those Longines created for Swissair navigators during the 1950s.An original Longines aviation watch from the 1950s. The watch that Harry Hofmann wore when he was a navigator for Swissair, flying DC-4s, DC-6s, DC-7s, DC-8s and Coronados up until 1974, bears the number 8237331. It is fitted with a Longines
Nico Gerard Pinnacle Is Mechanical On Top & Apple Watch On The Bottom - For A Massive Price
The Nico Gerard Pinnacle watch that combines a mechanical timepiece with an Apple Watch is probably a good idea, but executed with a price that makes it utterly unrealistic. As we have said here time and again, smart watches are a growing segment, and one that we expect to continue covering for some time. Of course, probably the most anticipated smart watch release this year was the Apple Watch, though sales seem like they might be a bit off. If you find yourself in the camp of wanting an Apple Watch, and still want to wear your traditional mechanical watch, what are you to do? You could certainly wear a watch on each wrist. While that is something I have grown accustomed to, I realize that not everyone may be ready for that. That, then, leaves the option of leaving one of the watches at home, or figuring out how to get both onto a single bracelet. That is what we have here with the Nico Gerard Pinnacle. This is not the first time we have seen an Apple watch combined with a regular watc
Major problem with the Speedy! Anybody run into this?
So my new Speedy Tuesday is already in the shop! The watch runs fine in normal mode, but when I click the Chrono pusher in to start the Chrono feature, the second hand stops at the 47th second and the entire watch stops working. Then as soon as I slightly turn the crown, the watch starts working again and the second hand starts ticking again and will sometimes stop again between the 49th and 58th second. Pretty aggravated to say the least!!!! However, i really like the staff where I bought it and it seems they are doing their best to remedy. They called all over to get a replacement but there are none anywhere. SO, anybody run into this????
Just Received 50th FOIS band question
