AP Reliability
Hi all,Been reading about AP's reliability, just wanted to hear your experiences on this brand?Problems such as:- Date not changing- Watch stopping after a few weeks / months of use- Not accurate (going as fast as +60 sec/day)Any thoughts?
Off to Bienne...
I sent my Seamaster to Bienne today. I have heard that the Swiss service centers are much better to deal with than the ones here in the USA (I also thought it would be more fun sending it to its home.)It cost me $38.00 and change for express with insurance. It is supposed to be there in 4 business days.I asked them for some Omega goodies in my request letter, we will see what I getAfter they get the watch, service it and return it I will write a brief review of the whole process.
Undecided.... Grail Hunt
Hi guys. Ok, as alway I need your advice in what would be a better decision. I like movements and PP drive me nuts in a good way in that area. Currently my focus has been set solely on the 5712 in either ss or Rose Gold. Lately , I came across the Patek 5205 (either grey of black) which has a similar dial to the PP 5626. So, what do you guys think? What is the model to go for? Is the 5712 out shined by the 5205? Or, is the 5726 the way to go between those 4? Movement wise, are the 5205 and the 5726 the same? I know the 5712 movement is a beauty with the micro rotor but the 5626 is also great. All that said, thoughts? Knowledge? Words of wisdom? Here are some pics of the models from the Internet. What about the watches no one wants???
So I'm planning on picking up my second Rolex to pair with my 116040. Contemplating the 116234 36mm Datejust. I've seen no shortage of these in display cases lately. For those of you with gobs of experience, what would be a good starting point in terms of negotiating price at an AD. Thanks in advance for your input.
Black Friday Treat for Myself
I picked up a new to me GMT Master II 116713 today and I'm so very pleased. I stopped in at the local dealer because I heard he had taken in a blue sub on trade and I was thinking that just might be my next watch.... Until I saw this one. I'm very pleased with how different and more substantial it feels from my sub (2001 serial range). Now to figure out how to set the darn thing!
