Covering #SIHH: A Social Media Overview On Sharing A Major Watch Show
This article is by Kristin Kramer who is typically on the back-end of watches-dealer but has taken the time to share a recent interesting experienceSIHH watch week in Geneva, the third week in January, has become an exhilarating, exhausting onslaught of watch love, filled with astounding, jaw-dropping displays of design, engineering and skill found at SIHH, the Geneva Time Exhibition (GTE) and in hotels along the Quai des Bergues where independents display their wares.? It's a mind-blowing wrist-candy assault of the senses, bringing joy to the hearts of watch lovers everywhere - who can be there.Let's Bring Watch Week to You, But How...?I'm not a "Facebook Person." Here's proof:Prior to taking the Facebook page over for watches-dealer, I had never posted a Facebook picture, except accidentally by phone in a pool hall, and I am often loathe to the seemingly endless stream of cat and baby photos, motivational quotes, Huffington Post articles and George Takei shares.? Went to my CT Omega AD today . . .
No, no new watch this time, BUT I just thought I'd share a fantastic AD experience I've had today. As some of you who live in the state of Connecticut may know, there is a VERY limited amount of Omega AD's in the state (something like 2 or 3 total). Today I visited Lenox Jewelers in Fairfield, CT. I was VERY impressed by the knowledge at the salesperson I spoke with (Glen). They treated me VERY well (even gave me an Omega Collection booklet, listing all the current Omega watch models !!). Besides Omega (they had a very nice selection, the Speedy Moon watch, two quartz SMP's (one black, the other blue), auto Seamasters, PO's, PO Chrono's, etc.), but they also had a very nice selection of Rolex, and Breitling as well. I guess my point of all this, is if anyone is in the CT area, definitely check these guys out ! They also have thier own in-house watchmaker as well ! (Instead of sending in to Rolex / Omega for service, they do 90% of the work right in the AD ! ). Anyway, just thought that
Just bought a new 317... Its gaining too much time...
Hello Guys...Just bought a 317 from a member here NIB (Thanks RUpanerai! Great guy!) and am having some problems... In the first 6 hours I had it the pam has gained 30 seconds... So should I worried or is there something I can do to calibrate it properly? Maybe the mechanism has to be broken in?The watch is a P serial.Let me know guys and thanks!JC
The strap game has begun....
when i came to the dark side, i was aware that buying straps maybe a bad habit. i told myself i should not buy extra strap at one point. but on the same day i made the purchase of my first pam, i've already ordered the rubber strap and deploy buckle. and then after 2 weeks, my itch made me uncontrollably browsing through all strap vendors for a few days straight. ended up i made the first handmade strap order from Drew, Europelli. after a month of waiting, my strap finally delivered yesterday. Amazing is all i can say.it is the Antique Maduro Calfskin from 1966. compare to the oem rubber and the stainless band came with the watch, this vintage strap really brings out a whole new character of the watch. love it! i guess this is going to be my new hobby now.sorry about the big size picture, too lazy to resize them :p
Rolex OysterQuartz Presidential
Hi there. My name is John. 34 years young and have started to look at Rolex's. I am in the market for a nice affordable time piece. I recently stumbled across this completed auction https://m.ebay/itm/263464143702#vi__app-cvip-panelThe watch looks very cool. Doesn't look like the dial is original to the watch. Seems to be solid 18k including the band. Never heard of the Oysterquartz and wasn't even aware they made a quartz. Is this a decent price one can expect to pay?Does this watch run on Battery?Excuse me but my knowledge is very limited. Any help is much appreciated and welcomed. Thank you in advance for your reply's.
