Inside Basel.Geneva 2014 Showcase: Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Flyback Chronograph
WatchTime and noted watch collector and expert Jeff Kingston are teaming up again to present the 2014 edition of the popular “Inside Basel.Geneva” live event series, kicking off September 5 in Chicago. The series also visits New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Blancpain returns this year as a core sponsor, and at the show, you will be able to try on the new Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Flyback Chronograph. For 2014, Blancpain has created an exciting new Bathyscaphe model powered by the new, self-winding, manufacture F385 flyback chronograph movement. New movements are always big news, and that is especially true in this case. Why big news? The answer is simple: 5Hz, or 36,000 vph. That is the rate at which this new movement ticks, and it represents a kind of holy grail in watchmaking. This rate is significant because it allows the chronograph to measure elapsing time to the tenth of a second C by far the most commonly used fraction in timed events. The great majority of chr
Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Contemporaine Calibre 1731 Minute Repeater Watch Breaks New Records
It would not be inappropriate for you to engage in a slow, polite clap to congratulate Vacheron Constantin on the release of their new record setting watch that now holds the title as the world's thinnest minute repeater. Slim and actually quite sexy, the Patrimony Contemporaine Calibre 1731 Minute Repeater was unveiled at the new Watches & Wonders watch show in Hong Kong. Asia has had a range of watch events in the past, but the Watches & Wonders show is a new, experimental event that brands are testing in terms of releasing new mid to late-year product releases before SIHH. Hong Kong is in many ways the gateway to China, and to honor the massive hungry watch market it makes sense for brands to offer something a bit new.Anytime a brand claims to set a new record it is important to put it within context. In the middle of the 20th century many brands, especially Piaget competed to produce "the most" ultra-thin watches. This went out of vogue until a few years ago, when brands su
Warning someone is pretending to me selling an AP
Hi there I was just made aware someone was trying to pretend they were me selling an Audemares Piguet Royal Oak. They had this email address knguyyen555gmail but that's not me. My email address is knguyen555yahoo please be aware.Kenny Nguyenknguyen555yahoo714-609-3622
Just wondering?
How would you describe the possible interest in ownership of a not yet 2 year old Constellation Double Eagle, gold/stainless? 1203.30.00. I understand it is no longer available for purchase. Would this fact make the watch more desirable, or less? it's a real watch, all crads, boxes, etc. Thanks in advance everyone. Chuck
Oyster Bracelet "stretch" - 5 digit vs 6 digit
There have been several threads which reference whether bracelet stretch will be any less on solid link oysters than hollow link oysters.Does anyone have a 2007 6 digit SS GMT (the first year they were made) and a 2007 5 digit SS Sub that were both worn a lot and which would provide a fair comparison on hollow vs solid.Or if someone can post pictures of a solid link 2007 SS GMT showing any bracelet stretch, I'm sure someone else can post pictures of a hollow link 2007ish SS Sub.
