Alpina Startimer Classic Automatic Chrono Watch Has Very Sad Hands
WTF Alpina? Seriously, is this a joke? Does this watch suffer from hereditary dwarfism? Can you even call a 44mm wide watch a dwarf? Oh, I am sorry, I meant "little watch." No, the watch is the right size, but the hands, those sad pathetic looking hands, are shrunken at the least. Look at them looking all sad? Even the chronograph subdial hands feel bigger.I have no clue what Alpina was thinking when their designer approved the hands on this Startimer Classic Automatic Chronograph watch. More like TinyTimer. This is exactly the type of crap that pisses me off. This watch makes me want to yell obscenities. Everything else about this watch is fine if you are going for that retro chronograph watch look - but those hands, what the hell is up with those stupid tiny hands? This isn't just a mistake, this is horological abuse.Do I need to even explain to anyone why or how the hour, minute, and chronograph seconds hands are small beyond excuse? Maybe this is a joke. Hello Guys,Is 5167 heading to become the new 5711? At least it seems that waiting lists are getting longer, pre owned prices are getting higher and the overall interest towards this so called entry level Patek is increasing. What do you think? Is there less supply for 5167 or has the demand for 5167 suddenly during the last months gone up? 6 months ago there was plenty of supply for pre owned at 16K$ price level. Now they are starting at 19K. So whats going on?

Coming back to the fold -- 372 or 504?
After a long hiatus, I'm trying to get back into watch collecting. The only watch left in my stable is an IWC Portuguese 5001 in steel with a black dial. I used to have a 111, but sold it to fund other things. Now I'm itching to add a Panerai back to my collection. My first thought is perhaps the most obvious choice: the 372. That said, I'm feeling the itch to be a bit more adventurous. The 504 caught my eye. Generally, I prefer the base models or those with sub-seconds. I'm also biased toward in-house movements because I'm that kind of snob. Let's further assume this will be the only Panerai in my collection. What is the right choice? The 372 is close to winning out, but I wonder if it's too pedestrian to represent a manufacturer/brand known for unique special editions.Thanks!

Hi all, I went to the AD today to try on some Rolexes. I was thinking about putting my name on the list for s sub date, but before doing so, I wanted to be 100% sure this is the perfect watch for me. This would be my first and last Rolex and I intend it to wear it daily and to the office (no suit). 8 years ago, I bought a 45mm Hamilton, which I kind of regret, because it's too big for my tiny wrists (6 1/4 inch). Which is why I haven't worn it that much, especially not in summer with short sleeves. Of course, I couldn't try on a sub date (not in stock), but they had a GMT, which has a similar 40mm case. I tried it on, but because it wasn't fitted properly to my wrist, it's hard for me to tell if this will wear comfortably once I bought it and some links will be removed. It seems the lug to lug size is just a little bit to large for me, but will it bother me later on (just like with the Hamilton)? Will I wear it sleeveless without feeling I am making a huge statement wearing a clock on
