Omega Celebrates the 35th Anniversary of the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project Mission
U.S. astronauts Lt. General Thomas Stafford and Vance Brand, and Russian cosmonauts General Alexsei Leonov and Valery Kubasov, joined Omega in New York City in a two-day celebration of the 35th anniversary of the historic Apollo-Soyuz Test Project mission, during which the astronauts and cosmonauts wore the Omega Speedmaster Professional. The Apollo-Soyuz Test Project flew in July, 1975 and marked a high-point for detente. It was the last Apollo mission and the first joint U.S.-Soviet mission. Engineering teams from both sides developed the docking module to link the two spacecraft, and it was there that Apollo commander Stafford (below right) and Soyuz-19 commander Leonov met and shook hands. The event was broadcast live on global television and it was captured 16mm film. The frame below became an iconic image symbolizing the dawn of a new age of superpower cooperation in space. In New York City, Lt. General Stafford, Mr. Brand and Mr. Kubasov made a special appearance at the Omega Fla
Storm Mekon Watch
I was waiting for someone to do this. It was only a matter of time before the watch world was able to release a budget version of the Corum Bridge watch. Storm UK was the one that did it. Of course this is not a replica or the same watch, but the concept is the same. A mechanical watch with a thin bridge-style movement in an otherwise empty and see-through dial. It certainly looks cool on the wrist.Let's be honest, you can't precisely compare a Corum with this Storm Mekon. While they exist in the same thematic family, this Storm will never replace a Corum in terms of pure horology. Where the Mekon does win is digest-ability. For just a few hundred bucks you can have the look and feel of something that would otherwise cost many thousands. Most people can handle that.I don't necessarily get the name "Mekon." Is it pronounced "mech-on," or perhaps "meek-on." I want to say the latter because of the word "Yukon." Whatever, the pieces speak for themselves. Storm rustled up a mechanical movem
Las Vegas AD
Esteemed Gents,I'm looking to purchase my first AP, 15400 in particular. Since there are no AD's here in AZ (that I know of) the next stop would be Vegas. Does anyone have any experience with either of them? I'll be there next weekend so any advice you can give is appreciated.Jorge

Dial replacement
OK, I am new to the forum just trying to understand the Rolex terms. When asking about replacing an existing dial on a Daytona with another color Rolex dial, the AD I spoke to says that Rolex would then consider that a counterfeit item and would not service it. What is the reasoning for this from Rolex if the watch is genuine? I am not wanting this done, only trying to understand the issues.
