Cuervo y Sobrinos Robusto Buceador Carbon Melges Limited Edition Watch
This video that was made to illustrate the partnership between Melges yachts and Cuervo y Sobrinos feels like a beer commercial from the early 1990s. I wonder what brew is enjoyed on deck during a high energy yacht regatta race on a speedy Melges 32? Sounds like Swiss owned, Cuban inspired Cuervo y Sobrinos should team up with Jose Cuervo - and dream up a new Latin lager. Mmm.. frosty. Is drinking while boat racing a good idea? I just see the boat - loaded with guys in identical outfits - running around trying to pull ropes with one hand, and their beers fly out of their other hand overboard.? After the race is over everyone kicks back a few more Cuervo Latin Lagers (that actually has a good ring to it), and passes out on the deck. Sounds like an upscale Corona ad. I should go into marketing. In honor of Cuervo y Sobrinos' partnership with Melges, and the sponsorship of their Melges 32 racing vessel, they have created a new limited edition version of their Robusto Buceador Carbon watch.
Jumping on the forged carbon bandwagon...
Like many here I panicked when I heard that AP was phasing out forged carbon in favor of ceramic, so I put my order in figuring that this was my last chance to score my dream diver.Well, as we all know, it was a false alarm, but even so, I knew that this was a watch that would go the distance in my collection, so I stayed the course, and boy am I glad that I did...Sigh...It wears like a dream......and if I'm being honest here, it's a completely different beast than the stainless steel diver. Indeed, they could both live quite happily with one another in the same collection. Alas, I doubt I'll be able to do just that, given my finances, however if I could, you can bet that I would. Here's a parting shot with another famous yellow diver:Love it!!!Regards,AdamPS - Apologies for the crappy office lighting and iPhone photos.
5960P strap
Hi there,Anyone knows the official color name of the original dark brown colored strap that comes with the 5960P Also anyone has seen some special colored straps for this models ? I heard there's a grey strap with red stitching and some other fancy colors available for this watch anyone can confirm this ?Thanks in advance
Sky-Dweller on small wrists
I'm curious if anyone here with small wrists wears a Sky-Dweller. I have a 6-1/4 wrist and my GMT fits alright but I'm worried the Sky-Dweller might look silly on me, especially if the trend towards larger watches passes. Also, I'm curious how heavy the SS or TT SkyD is. I prefer watches with a bit of heft but I'd like to get an idea of how it compares to something like a DJ 41.
Leather Straps for Rolex Clasp?
Does anyone have any experience with a company that could make leather straps for the Rolex clasp?Something similar to RubberB in terms of concept?Obviously leather would have to be custom made because you can't simply trim it like you can with rubber.I'd like a custom leather strap that would fit into the Datejust 41 clasp.Don't get me wrong, I love just about every Rolex bracelet, but I think the DJ can look nice on a strap and would definitely get something custom to try out.I don't know if it's worth the hassle because any regular strap and buckle can work, but something custom while using the clasp would be ideal.
