Junghans Max Bill Watch Range Updated For 2015
The Max Bill by Junghans?range does something strange to my brain. When you encounter a Junghans Max Bill watch for the first time, you might not know what to say. But why? They are not bizarre like an MB&F, Panda-piloted twin-turbine; they don't perform?an optical illusion a la Ressence Type 3; they're not?even made of an unusual material like a Richard Mille or a Schofield Blacklamp. No, it's because it?feels like you've seen them?a hundred times before, only you're not quite sure. They are almost a blueprint - a model of restraint. It's so easy to "get it" immediately. This is because the Junghans Max Bill is, in my opinion, an example of excellent design. This year, Uhrenfabrik Junghans has released eight new configurations for the Junghans Max Bill range. There are two ladies watches in bright, bold colors (blue and red) as favored by the late Swiss Maestro after whom the range is named, and a third ladies watch with a black dial and leather-backed felt strap. There is a new ge
Limes Endurance 1Tausend Diver Watch: Spirit Of German Submersion
Say "1Tausend" out loud and you have an instant German accent when saying "one thousand." This is not only the name of the new Limes (pronounced "lee-mez") diving watch, but also how deep it can resist water pressure. Are you going to be diving that deep? No, but Germans like to brag about their fortitude, and now so can you. With a very "Sinn" like styling, you can have a highly refined and functional diving watch for a fair price.Limes does something special among smaller watch makers, and that is make their own cases (which are usually sourced out). This gives them the ability to ensure high quality and release some interesting designs. The Endurance 1Tausend Diver Watch has an unmistakable look, even though it shares the appeal of many modern German diving watches. The face is well done providing each piece of numeric information without taking away from simple legibility. Limes does this by placing the hour, minute, and luminous hour indicator all in the same liner space. The thre
Standard Warranty Info Question
Hey Guys-- So I have two ROO's going for their first service soon. Both have their third year warranty sticker. My 44mm ROO has way more light scratches on the case than my 42 ( i won't opt for any type of refinish on my 42mm)..My question is this- Has anyone had their watch serviced and had the watch polished, or lightly touched up? The 44 just has some minor scuffs on the case and it drives me crazy - almost seams like if i breathe on it it can scratch..Is this a standard part of the service or is it an extra charge? How much does this extra charge translate to? It's hard to tell on the website as it is all in CHF and they break it down into each piece...Thanks!!!
How big are your wrists for the 42mm ROO? And which is most popular?
I have sub-7 inch wrists (more like 6 3/4) and it's been a long time since I've tested the ROOs... I recall not being able to pull off the Diver probably because it was 44mm.So how are you smaller wrists able to pull it off? Do you go for the bracelet which appear to be more forgiving or do you special order the short strap? And which is most popular (or more popular) - the BB, Volcano, Panda, or Safari? I'm not very fond of the Rubberclad and I can't pull off the 44mm ROOs...There's also a grey on grey dial ROO 42mm... Not sure what it is called. Thanks for the help... And any pics are welcome to enable!!
