Showing at WatchTime IBG 2014: Armin Strom Gravity Date Fire
WatchTime and noted watch collector and expert Jeff Kingston have teamed up again for the 2014 edition of the popular Inside Basel.Geneva series of collector events, kicking off September 5 in Chicago. Among the core sponsoring watch brands is indie brand Armin Strom, which will showcase its new Armin Strom Gravity Date Fire at the events. The Armin Strom Gravity Date Fire, with its 18k rose gold case, is the most luxurious of the quartet of Gravity Date watches each named for one of the four elements introduced at this year’s Baselworld watch fair. The others include the Gravity Date Air (in a titanium case), Gravity Date Water (in a stainless steel case) and Gravity Date Earth (in a stainless steel/black PVD case). Each of the watches is limited to 100 pieces and each contains the new Armin Strom in-house movement, Caliber ADD14, which features a date display whose mechanism is situated on the same axis as a 24-hour display.Like the original Armin Strom Gravity watch, whic
Sotheby’s to Auction Rare Patek Philippes Owned by Henry Graves Family
In December 1999, Sotheby's made watch-auction history. The auction house sold the so-called Henry Graves Supercomplication a pocketwatch originally commissioned from Patek Philippe by noted watch collector Henry Graves, Jr., and which featured 24 complications for an astounding $11,002,500, still the world record for any timepiece at auction. Last week, Sotheby’s announced that it will hold a single-owner sale on June 14, 2012 in New York that will include more rare watches from the collections of Graves and his grandson, Reginald “Pete” H. Fullerton, Jr., a noted collector and connoisseur in his own right. The auction, called Watches from the Collection of the late Reginald H. Fullerton, Jr. and his Grandfather Henry Graves, Jr., will comprise a group of 13 pieces collected by Graves that have never before been published or appeared on the market, as well as a group of 42 wristwatches and an important Knibb Grande Sonnerie Long Case Clock, assembled by Fullerton
Ref.5402 B series
Hello everyone,Just quick advice, I have been proposed a 5402 with B serial number in the early 1300. The watch has the AP on the 12 and not on the 6 like the A series. However I have seen advertised also later serials with still the AP on the 6.This doesn't seem clear to me, in fact from what I have read the dials in stock after the A series was completed were used for early B series. Therefore either my watch or the ones advertised may have had a later dial change, can you confirm?Hope is all Clear and thanks for your time
How Long For PO Chrono To Return From Repair?
I sent my Planet Ocean Chronograph in last week for repair. The watch was acting funky to say the least. Keep time, stop running, complications would sometimes work etc. From what I understand they have had problems with this movement so I was not shocked. I just want to get a rough idea of the ETA. since this will hopefully fund another piece. BTW: Does Omega send the watch back polished?
