Artist Profile: The Imagery Of Time With Olga Narozhna
People starve to be different. The least likely of places you'd expect find individualism was Soviet-controlled Ukraine in the 1970s. Let me tell you about finding uniqueness among the seemingly generic, and a person that discovers and displays it.It was purely accidental that I learned about Olga Narozhna and her work. She is a one of the kind artist, hard to find if you are not looking in the right places. Olga is an artist consumed with the representation of time. Most of her work incorporates some component from a watch or clock, working or in fragmented form. The imagery of time is beautiful to Olga, I see clocks as art, and then as the time. Artists like Olga don't exist to be found, so one has to probe. eBay is a waypoint for the interesting, the hard to get, and the value-endowed. Recently, I found an interesting type of watch that I had never seen before. It wasn't a particular brand, nor was it anything mass produced, but rather a piece of watch art. Labeled under the item t
Velcro Strap for Speedmaster Pro
Hi guys, So I just picked up a Speedmaster Professional and it should be here tomorrow. I bought the updated version that comes with the two additional straps. I was just curious how many people actually use the velcro strap? Might sound silly but when I was younger my first watch had a similar velcro strap, so Im kind of excited to use it. Just wanted to see what peoples thoughts are on the velcro strap and see if anyone has any pics.... cheers
5980R Pricing
Hi Guys : Dipping my toes into Patek and specifically the 5980R. Being offered at 52K from a AD with my name on the papers. Good deal or I can do better. Also would love to know your thoughts on the piece. I'm coming from AP so like the bigger sizes. Will this 40MM wear too small ? Please advise. Pic for reference :
Pam 514
What's everyone's opinion on this model? I haven't really paid any attention to it till today. I'm so close to liking it, but I just can't seem to. I like the 47mm 1940's case and all, but I just can't stand the date function and the spring bar lugs. If it had no date, and screw down lugs, I'd be all over it. I guess I just really want a 399. Actually, I'd love to see a 399 without the seconds hand!
Oyster Perpetual V's Explorer 1
I'm currently considering either a Oyster Perpetual 116000 (No Date) or a Explorer 114270 both would be in stainless steel with black dial... they look fairly similar however I am I right in thinking they both use a 3130 calibre movement ? the internet is a bit of a minefield when it come to researching these things,Also is either better than the other.... many thanks H
