Watches NEWS
Now You Can Ask A Watch Expert Anything*
watches-dealer has just rolled out a new feature that we are pretty excited about. It's called "Ask watches-dealer Anything" and is our version of an "Ask Us Anything" page. The idea is to offer a page with reader-submitted questions that we choose to answer for everyone to read, available all the time. Just click "Ask" in the top navigation menu.Questions that we think are important and of interest to other readers will be chosen by our editorial team each week. If you have a question for a specific team member, then just include their name in the question. *Now, while we say we are here to answer anything, you know that isn't true. But of course, feel free to ask whatever you like. The idea is to help educate and inform the larger watch lover and novice community. For everything else you can use our regular CONTACT page. For years now, watches-dealer has receivedwell, a lot of e-mails from people with every type of question imaginable. Adding/Removing links on new SMP300
Has anyone added or removed links from the new screw style bracelet on the SMP 300?I've searched the threads and am not coming up with anything.I would think its as simple as removing the screws on both sides and then with a drift-pin tap out the pin.Just looking for confirmation...Thanks!

the scratching of a bezel
I am almost embarrassed to post this because it is so minor. That said.... I have a very minor hairline scratch on a DateJust 41 fluted bezel. I am posting a picture of how people will see it. In other words, showing how no one else will ever notice the scratch when its on my wrist. It is just to the left of the 9. I am then posting a close up of it. Otherwise known as how it looks when I stare obsessively at it under a bright light. Here is my issue: I am guessing there are going to be plenty of scratches and dings to come. I would not seek to fix this now. It is far, far too minor. That said, in 7 years or so when I go to get this serviced are these the types of tiny damage areas that Rolex can polish and buff out? It is a watch and I intend to enjoy it so this is not haunting my soul. It is not meant to sit safely in a safe under lock and key protected from the world. I would just like some affirmation that down the road these types of scratches can be fixed easily. It is
Lousy Business--I Just dont Get Flipping
Looking at the classifieds I see Batmans with stickers bought three months ago going for as little as $ 300 over MSRP and not moving. What is the big deal about flipping watches ? To me it does not make any sense at all to tie up $ 9K in an unworn watch, and then have trouble selling it at cost three months later. Think of all the hastle and risk involved, for a lousy profit. What is more is that it seems like there is a fake demand for these watches with so many buying to flip. Sooner or later these buyers will be discouraged and the miracle business attraction debunked. My guess is Rolex knows about this and have therefore restricted supply. The only ones that move watches are the known reputable gray sellers but they will buy you out of your watch for a 2K loss. There is risk and hastle involved there too.
