Watches NEWS
Got this idea from Fr John, thanks!
After some self enabling thru lookin at the pics of Fr John's Carribean 22558000, I score one myself, new in box, from a brick and mortar shop. However I can never get the original bracelet to fit properly, it is either too loose with half link more or tight without that half link, to the extent the diver extension can self activate.I earlier ordered an off-market mesh for my PO2500 but since the original PO bracelet fitted so weel, I left her alone.I saw some of Fr John's pics of his 2255 on mesh and thought I properly can give it a try. Now my 2255 fits slightly better and I think she has this retro look with that mesh on!
White Nautilus 5711
I finally have a chance to get the Nautilus. My grey dealer has both the blue and white dials. The blue, however, has no box and papers while the white is BNIB. They are asking for USD38K for the white and USD36K for the blue. I am leaning towards the white for obvious reasons. I wouldn't consider paying this much amount of hard earned cash for a watch without papers. I've looked on chrono24 and it seems the white Nautilus ranges from as low as 32 to 40 thousand US dollars. Do you guys think this is a fair price? I live in China and I seldom get an opportunity like this. Your wisdom and advice would be highly appreciated. Here are some photos of the watch in question. Brexit day pick up!!!
So, a few months back you might remember I bought a 5711 Nautilus... .rolexforums/showthread.php?t=455077I absolutely loved that watch but ultimately I ended up giving it to my Dad for being a good bloke. This left me happy to have been able to do that for him but sadly it left me with a Patek-shaped hole in my soul that I really wanted to fix. I decided there was only one watch to replace a blue dial 5711 Nautilus and so put myself down on lists with dealers I have good contacts with and although I was confident I would get one before the end of 2016, I was equally confident that I'd get hit by either a Brexit or regular currency related price increase before I succeeded. When I woke this morning and Mrs C told me we were oooooot, after a few minutes thought dedicated to the more important things in life, I thought... well that's going to be my Patek costing even more then. However (!!!) after 20 minutes at work I got a call from one of my contacts who was delighted to tell me my watch
Online Videos in the new Christies "Watch Shop"
I read the two articles about Patek in Financial Times, 09/09/2014, page 6 of the Watches & Jewelry section. A small article announcing the opening of a new online used watch store at Christie's got my attention so I spent about an hour on it. The site offers great videos discussing various Pateks. Very informative. Go to .christies/watchshop. Enjoy!
