FINALISTS of Mr. H's 2012 Audemars Piguet Photo Contest
First of all, I would like to thank everyone that entered the contest. While all the photos were fantastic, we can only have three winners. Here are the five finalists of the photo contest from which I will select three winners with the help of a couple of the moderators. The finalists are Peppers90, orangedial, SteelerFan65, emagni and kilyung. These finalists submitted photos that accurately portray the essence of the Audemars Piguet brand and from a photographic value standpoint they are just outstanding!!! These finalists are not posted in any particular ranking order.
Wear and Flip question for 5711
So as some of you may have read in my recent thread titled Bit of luck I recently (by some minor miracle) happened upon a brand new, unclaimed 5711 which had arrived at the AD that same morning. I've made the down-payment, and will be paying the remainder in full Friday morning. Before I do, I'd like to get a real, honest sense of what I am getting into in terms of investment. I plan to wear the watch and enjoy it for a very long time to come, of course--but because it's such a chunk-o-cash for me, I'd like to know what you guys think is in store for such a watch in terms of gaining or losing value over time, flip-ablity, etc. I'm used to vintage watches (Rolex in particular), and I know new watches are typically like cars, in that they lose a lot of value after you wear one off the lot. BUT, I also know as a Patek Philippe, and as a SS Nautilus, this watch is anything but typical. Thoughts and comments greatly appreciated!!
Stuck - Need Help (5711)
I am considering adding a white nauty to my lineup but Im worried about fit.My wrist is about 6.5 inches and fairly flat on top. To put it in perspective, I cannot get my 1680 bracelet to line up the clasp as there are too many links on the 6 o clock side, so the clasp sits very far towards the 12 o clock (not centered at all). There are 4 full links and the 1 weird looking link on the 6 o clock side, and same on the other side (ive taken all the removable links out of the 1680).As for my LVc - its a very good fit with the clasp being center and I have 3.5 links on the 6 o clock side and 6 links on the 12 o clock side with the glidelock set on the first notch inwards (you cannot see any notches looking at it).My EXPII 42mm, I have 4 links on the 6 o clock and 6 links on the 12 o clock - fits perfect. My question - based on some of the above info - would the nautilus be a decent fit for me? I want it to be comfy and centered. I hate when the watch starts to sit too far back to the 12 o c
Wholesale/Dealer Prices - Submariner/Sea-Dweller
Good Evening - Does anyone have access to accurate dealer/wholesale costs for any/all of the following models:Submariner - No dateSubmariner - dateSea-DwellerIdeally, I'd like the most recent wholesale costs for the 2018 models and I don't think color matters, but if it does then let's go with black face models.Thanks.
