New 42mm ROOs
So, I had the chance this weekend to finally try on a few 42mm ROOs in Las Vegas as they're are no AP dealers close to me in Texas. The only one they didn't have was a grey themes because it had sold earlier that day. My favorites were the black themes - the red stitched hornback on the new buckle is excellent - and the navy as the white subdials and orange accents really look great. Either would make a great match to my Diver on bracelet. What's your pick?My diver:BZ
Thinking of downsizing to a 42mm Panerai...
I've owned several PAMs over the years, a 111, 000, 312, 287, 024 and currently a 233. Though I deeply appreciate the brand, I've somehow come to the conclusion that the 44-45mm size is just too large on my wrists (6.5 inches). I've been looking at the 42mm Panerai models and have been attracted to some of the Radiomir models (337, 514) but I am looking at something with a date. Also saw and admire the 184 which is somehow hard to come by. The Luminor 392 seems a bit too thick for me. I wanted to ask members experiences with handling a 42mm Panerai (Luminor or Radiomir) and if anyone can recommend something that is slim and with the date function. I guess I am looking for something with the overall Panerai aesthetic but somehow not too bulky on my wrist. Sausage or sandwich dial is fine. Any thoughts would be appreciated. A very modern Rolex question
If a modern GMT is a Batman, Brusier or Captain America,a modern Sub a Hulk, Smurf or Kermit,a modern Yachtmaster a Yachtie.A modern Milgaus a Millyand a Rolex a Rollie.......What is the average mental age of modern nickname calling Rolex owners, are they secret man babies and should they frequent TRF or Marvelcomics fan boy page
Newbie Question on Factory Shipments
Hi All, forgive my newbie ignorance. Im at the point in my life where Im ready so Ive started exploring the Rolex and what I want to buy. Went to an AD a couple months ago and they said forget the Batman, you will not get one. They allocate them to their best customers. They had a Hulk that I loved but wanted to continue looking and you know how that ended. So I went back and they said the same thing about both watches, basically forget it. Went to a different AD who said we don't play that game. we have a wait list and it is what it is. I am number 5 for the Batman and number 3 for the Hulk. I said what the heck, put me down for a white faced ss daytona. She smiled and said your number 50... and we get about 2 a year on those :-)So my question is, any idea when Rolex sends these out? She seemed to think Id get both in 2018 but she of course couldn't venture when. Im guessing Rolex keeps their info very close and doesn't say much about anything from what Ive been reading here.
