The $150 Bulova Hack Military-Style Watch
While watches don't seem to generally be affected by seasonal trends, I do, for whatever reason, associate summertime with military-style watches. I guess it's just the color schemes you often see, as well as a sort of rugged utilitarianism that lends itself to traipsing about in the outdoors. While you have all of the usual suspects for affordables in this category, there's a new one that came across our radar that we thought was worthwhile bringing to your attention. That model is the Bulova Hack, by Bulova. At first glance, it's easy to see that this fits into the military theme for a watch - and it's just not some styling exercise. This actually has ties into their archive - a much earlier iteration of the Hack was issued to the U.S. Army during World War II. So, not quite a trench watch, but definitely in that lineage. Why even mention trench watches? For me, those have a particular look to their dials and handsets - and the Hack definitely follows in that tradition. The font used h
Taking the PM leap - Opinions welcome please
Hi All,Greetings from NYC. After having been lucky enough to own a few APs in SS and Ceramic (as well as a number of SS Rolex) I have decided to add a yellow gold chrono to the collection. I am torn between 2 models. AP RO 26320 in Yellow Gold w/ white faceorRolex Daytona 116508 Yellow Gold w/ white faceThese are both with the full bracelet. I know the predisposition on this forum it to vote AP, but I also know many of you appreciate other brands as well. Also, let's assume for this discussion that the price difference is not enough to be the deciding factor. My only concern with the AP is that perhaps it's a bit on the dressy side. (I'm mostly business casual/jeans). But it's so elegant... The Daytona seems like a versatile and rock solid piece...Any thoughts or opinions from my fellow WIS?Thank you and have a great week!Dave
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15300 INCOMING!!!!
After all your great work at instigating me to get a new watch while my AP 5402 is at the Clearwater spa, I pulled the trigger a few minutes ago on a gorgeous Blue Tappiserie Royal Oak 15300 that DAVIDSW had for sale. I will be getting the watch tomorrow and I will post some wrist shots and glam shots then. Until tomorrow. Now, gotta decide what needs to go from my collection. Tough decision. Here's one of David's pics from his listing.
Pam 249 or pam448
Found a local seller but torn on which I should pick up. Both are priced at the same. I already own the Pam 449, just wanted it's brother .
Want to post pic of my first Rolex!!
I've had my Milgauss z blue for a few days now and really love the watch. Haven't been able to post pictures on the site... so I'll ask a stupid question: is there an easy way to get a picture from my iPhone pics to the forum? Thanks!
