Top 10 Watches Of Baselworld 2013
Ariel & James inspecting new ceramic watches with Rado.First, a small Basel recap: if you are interested in watch industry business then my report from Baselworld 2013 is simple. The watch industry has anticipated a slowdown in business and growth from China for the last few years and the projections are true. While Chinese money is still important, China isn't exactly a growing market and many Chinese buyers are purchasing outside of China in places such as the US and Europe (where sometimes surprisingly, taxes on luxury goods are cheaper). This means that the luxury industry is once again focusing on the Western world and traditional luxury hot spots such as the Middle East, Russia, and the world's hot vacation spots (that still attract money). Business as usual in the world of glitz and status is go where the money is which is once again the primary objective of those who claim to make the best watches in the world. The good news is that new watches in 2013 are better than ever,
15400 just back from AP service - 5711 comparison?
So I just got my 15400 back from AP service for its 3rd year warranty extension. Also had the polish done and the watch looks incredible. Putting it back on my wrist reminded me of what an incredible watch this is. For those of you that own an 5711 or 5712 PP, is it really worth almost 3X the price for another stainless steel piece?Or is the RG 44 ROO a better option? Both appear to be around $35k.
FOIS crown question
Hey all,Wore my FOIS for the first time in a while today and as I was setting the time, I noticed that there was a little bit of play in the crown. Basically, that I could turn the crown a little bit before it would engage and move the hands. Do any of your FOIS' experience the same thing or is this something I should have looked at by my watchmaker? Thanks!
This dial ?? Thoughts please.
Not sure about this dial what are your thoughts please. Font ok ? What's the white around hour lume plots at 6?
Should I buy it anyway?
So I travel a lot and called an AD (not in my home town) who I talked to before and he has my name on the waiting list for the usual suspects (hulk and Daytona SS)Today I called to check my position on the list and as I was hanging up he said that they have a Batman If I'm interested!!It's really not a watch I've been wanting but would I be wrong passing the opportunity?I don't want to become grey market dealer and am not interested in the buy sell theme but what do yuh guys think? A- Should I buy it and maybe trade it to something I want later onB- buy it and sel it to Fund a watch I wantC- pass and just wait for what I wantFinally with the expected price increase from Rolex, D- is it a good investment to buy it and keep it in my safe?Help is appreciated
