Techne Harrier Ref 392 and 362 Review
Techn is a brand we've been following since we first started worn&wound. Specializing in great looking pilot and aviator watches with even more outstanding prices, they are one of the few brands out there they is as committed to design as they are to quality and value. They also take a no fuss, transparent approach to what they make.Utilizing Asian made movements and cases, they keep their costs down, but not at the expense of quality. They also are willing to try things that many other brands seem scared of, such as using SeaGull ST1901 mechanical chronographs and interesting quartz movements to provide variety without high prices.?Their newest watches, the Harrier series, stay true to the philosophies of the brand while pursuing a more modern aesthetic. Though the older Techn models are clearly present in the new Harriers, one can see how the aesthetic has evolved and become both bolder and cleaner for a more aggressive and contemporary look. Saw new PO/8500
Went into an Omega boutique yesterday to check out Omega offerings, and man was I impressed with the new PO w/ 8500 movement. The new exhibition back and the super luminova on the date wheel is AWESOME. They even had a woman's version my wife was drooling over. Great stuff. That being said, with a $6100 sticker price, I'd still lean toward Rolex at that price. Very well done though.
I want to wear a diamond
Recently, as per a thread that I started in the other Watch Topic section. I was thinking of getting a Rolex DD. To do that I would have to trade one of my Pateks -5127R or 5167A.Well, after a lot of thought and reading what other members said, I decided NOT to go with that idea. But then I happen to see Jorge's photo of his stunning 5146P and I was in horology love:banged:And the thought of getting one - ultimate PM marked by a diamond at 6 o'clock got me excited. As I would have to sell/trade + cash both of mine. What do others members think?Bad idea or not? Please feel free to include photos, just to help
Platinum model pricing and availability
Just wondering whether or not platinum Patek models are a more limited in supply compared to other precious metals/stainless, and whether there is more flexibility in pricing similar to Rolex (I've been offered various platinum Rolex models at 30%+ off MSRP).The reason I'm curious is that I've been offered what I think is a nice price on a platinum Patek (5196p), when I was really in the market for white gold. However, if these models are more collectible, I might try to negotiate a bit more and stretch the wallet for platinum. Thanks for any input.
