Girard-Perregaux Constant Escapement Watch
"Constant Escapement" sounds like the marketing slogan for an all-inclusive vacation resort somewhere. "What you truly seek is constant escapement..." It is true, like other hobbies in life, high-end watches are a constant distraction, and offer some nice escape when wound properly. What?Girard-Perregaux?actually means is "constant force escapement" - which is really what this new high-end technically-astute timepiece is all about. In this watch are clues to the future of the brand as well as insight as to what Switzerland's top watch makers are currently working on. The Constant Escapement doesn't do anything new, but it does do some existing things in a fresh new way. What we've been noticing lately from Girard-Perregaux is a rather distinct rejection of its own aesthetic codes. For a while, Girard-Perregaux was all about "classic and timeless" - with good looking retro-inspired pieces and a relative negligence of their sport watch collections. Recommendations for a former Rolex wearer?
I'm just learning about Breitling's and to be honest, I've seen them in stores and never took a second look at them, primarily because they looked huge and enormous. What are some models that are not so huge and weigh a ton? I've recenlty sold two submariners and I'm looking for something a little more original that every Tom, Dick and Harry isn't wearing. Any recommendations? I'm not a huge, huge, guy, med athletic build, Hence I hear all the former NFL players, TV sportscasters are all big Breitling fans, ..Thanks
What's with speedmasters from Japan on eBay?
Hey all, I'm considering purchasing a speedmaster (one of the newer 3570.50). Anyway, I notice on eBay a large representation of seemingly like new examples for the best prices. They are all from Japan. Is this something to worry about? Anyone know what the situation is with that? Should I steer clear? Thanks in advance for your advice!
Help me decide my first Panerai
Guys... i need some help here. I would like to purchase my first panerai, but I am at a lost with all the different 3 digit numbers. How do you guys remember the numbers and its respective designs? is there some sort of classification that helps to make it easier to remember all the numbers and its design?Ok.ing back to the first PAM, I would like an automatic, an exhibition caseback, around 42mm or 44mm. Preferably SS cause I like the shine. Any to recommend? Thanks!
5,000th Post with SOTC
What more is there to do on your 5,000th post than update everyone on your SOTC. Here's a brief pictorial of the current collection. I'm not sure what's next. I might hold out for the PepsiC when it comes to Rolex... I'd love to add a 5711 or a 5712 but who knows how long that will take...I've thought about a Patek. 5396R-012 also. I think I should consider a dress watch and that's one of my favorites. As my good friend Jerry Garcia once said, What a long strange trip it's been Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
