Bremont Oracle II Review
Only a couple of months ago, Bremont announced a new partnership with the America's Cup Event Authority and Oracle Team USA, serving as the Official Timing Partner of the 35th America's Cup (yacht racing, but crazy high-tech ones that ride above the water). Following that, they released four watches in collaboration with their new patterns. Two classically inspired pieces called the American Cup series; a three-hander and chronograph, both of which hint at Marine chronometers. And two sport watches for the Oracle Team USA Series, based on their dive watch line, the Supermarines. While they are all attractive in their own right, the Oracle II really stood out for me. Of the watches, it felt the most like a standalone model that would occupy a unique place in Bremont's line up. It also riffed on a special edition from 2014 I was smitten with, the Terra Nova. Both feature titanium Supermarine cases and GMT movements. But while the Terra Nova was about hiking in extreme climates, the Oracle
Introducing: The A. Lange & S?hne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon
Welp, it's official. I want a tourbillon. And a big, bad tourbillon. Say hello to the brand new, just announced A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon. It sounds simple enough, right? I mean Lange showed us the updated Dato Perpetual last year, so what's the big deal about adding a tourbillon? Well, this is Lange, and Lange doesn't do anything the easy way – this limited edition block of platinum is anything but ordinary and I'll tell you all about it below. 1 OF 6 The Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon is limited to 100 pieces, all in platinum. Essentially what we have here are three high-end complications pieced together. In the case of lesser manufactures, you'll often find such watches with modular construction, placed almost piecemeal on top or next to each other. This is Lange, however, and Lange is better than that. In the case of lesser manufactures, you'll see multi-complication watches with modular construc
15202 advice needed...
As some of you might know I was really wanting to get a Jumbo to have my watch trio, ok now have much more but am trimming. But Doing a little research I found that the JLC based movement, as great as it may be, has 1 slight problem, it needs regular lubrication to avoid barrel bridge wear/damage, so my question to the AP experts here and people who own this model and have had these issues, is:1. How often does it need servicing?2. Since it won't be my only one it won't get 100% wrist time, which means if for example servicing needs to be done every 5 years but I wear it only 4 months a year, I don't put my watches on a winder and will probably have at home my PP + Rolex for 1_2 weeks, the AP in the bank safe, and the contrary 1-2 weeks later so maybe the movement will be working 5-6 months/year, does that mean I can stretch the service delay to 8-10 years without risk or the fact that it isn't worn all the time doesn't matter as the lubricant will dry anyways, worn or not, and after so
Speedmaster MK II case back question
Is there a clear (sapphire) case back that's made for this watch or is there one that's a lower profile? I like this watch except that it's a bit thick. I was wondering if a narrower case back could be installed to reduce the overall thickness.I searched online and on this forum, but no luck.thanks!
