Introducing: The New Roger Dubuis Velvet Collection For Pre-SIHH 2016
?SIHH is barely a month away, and the exhibiting maisons are starting to release some of their highly anticipated designs for 2016. According to many this is going to be THE year for women's watches and Roger Dubuis is clearly on board with that trend. Let's see what they've shared with us, with SIHH just around the corner. ADVERTISEMENT Roger Dubuis' collection designed exclusively for women clients is known as Velvet, and for this year's SIHH, they will be adding two watches to the existing lineup (that we know of so far, I should add). These are the Blossom Velvet Pink and Velvet Secret Heart. Additionally, there will be a new men's watch, The Excalibur Skeleton Automatic. 1 OF 3 The Blossom Velvet Pink (which will also be released in Blue) features a mother-of-pearl dial with assorted pink grand feu enamel floral motifs. The basic case design is essentially identical to other Velvet cases and is set with diam
My first Omega - recent Rolex convertee!
Hi all. After over 2 years of contemplating an Omega purchase, i finally pulled the trigger on a PO last weekend I've been dreaming of this set up since I saw a guy in Paris with it back in 2010 but never had the balls to actually move from Rolex. After reading some great reviews on TRF, i figured it was time to cough up and make a purchase. To say I love it is an understatement. I switched out the rubber deployment strap for the alligator (just like the one I saw). I was a little worried of the 45mm size, but i honestly cant tell the different from other 40mm watches when it is on the wrist. Already looking at what my next Omega will be... eyeing up the Aqua TerraHope you enjoy the pics!Chris
Brushed stainless bracelet on titanium watch?
I have a 057 all titanium and want to add an aftermarket brushed stainless bracelet ($70 so hard to go wrong...). Will brushed stainless match up with titanium? Thanks!
Rolex "Heft"...
It was almost 40 years ago when I bought my first Rolex...I remember picking it up and thinking: Wow, this is heavy!!!But in a good way...You could just feel the quality...The fit and finish was of course outstanding...But the Heft...THAT'S what sold me...(Fast Forward 40 years...)I went to an AD in December and looked at a DeepSea...I picked it up and thought: Wow, this is heavy!!!But in a good way...
Got my first Rolex!
Been a big mechanical watch fan for a long time and had a few cool pieces (in my opinion, ha, ranging from Citizen and Seiko to Sinn and Omega ) that I bought throughout the years. Mostly tool watches as I love the engineering aspect of things.Always interested in Rolex due to its history and engineering, especially the Sub / Sea-Dweller series. But never convinced myself to spend the money. The past couple of years, I had been working in Hong Kong on assignment. As some of you probably know, there's a billion (no exaggeration ) Rolex ADs there. So my interest in Rolex picked up again. Tried on the Deepsea in the past and loved the engineering aspect of it (and I don't mind big watches), but somehow felt the bracelet is too narrow for the watch head. (Just my opinion.. still think it is awesome.. !) Tried the SubC and it is really nice, although would prefer it a little bit bigger. (I am not a huge guy, but just like big watches.. )Then I saw the release of SD43 and thought
