Roger Dubuis Introduces Hommage Minute Repeater Tourbillon Automatic
The new Roger Dubuis Hommage Minute Repeater Tourbillon Automatic, unveiled at the Watches and Wonders Fair in Hong Kong, features a trio of technical attributes: a minute repeater with new gongs, a flying tourbillion with a new cage, and twin micro-rotors in hand-guilloch rose gold. Let's take a closer look.Minute repeaters originated long before either electric lighting, or luminous markings on dials and hands, were invented. By sounding distinct notes for the hours, quarter hours and minutes, they allowed the owner to hear the time in the absence of light. Today, this functionality is no longer required, but collectors appreciate fine minute repeater watches as paragons of the watchmaking art.The slide at 9 o'clock activates the minute repeater. The Roger Dubuis Hommage Minute Repeater Tourbillon Automatic showcases gongs designed to improve the quality of the chime thanks to a combination of a new shape C square rather than the traditional round, and new materials. Bought my first Omega what do you think?
I managed to get my first Omega Planet Ocean XL for $2600 in mint condition. The seller has a good rep and everything looks great via the pictures and info he listed. I love big watches and I really like the orange bezel. Did I pay to much at $2600? I really wanted a Sub but couldn't find one I liked that fit the budget. The only think I didn't like was the fact that it doesn't come with a warranty card. The dealer said it was a gray market piece so it didn't come with one. Will this be a problem once it needs serviced? Also, what about a watch winder should I have one of these? I know lots of questions thank you for the help. I should have it tomorrow so i'll post a picture. Thanks Guys
5131 for $135K
I finally stumbled upon one of my favorite PP complicated watches, and it also happens to be one of the most sought after references. The only catch is the store (non-AD) wants $135K, which is multiples of what the retail price is. I realize this is the price the owner thinks he can sell it for, but I find the price egregious. Seems like a big premium, and I'd be at particular risk if PP finally figures out how to manufacture these dials in greater quantity. I'm first on the wait list at my AD, although it seems very unlikely I'll ever get it. My other favorite complications are the 5170 and potentially the 5760a (but need to see it in person first). I could also go grand complication at that price, but would prefer to stick with plain old complications for now. Thoughts?
New sub

Panerai Luminor Vintage strap. Very cool look.
Just wanted to share a new strap that is a bit unusual. Its a Panerai Luminor Vintage strap in black. Its a calf skin strap but has a bit of a rough texture to it but is very playable.. Its tough to get a good pic to capture the color but it is a distresst black with underlining shades of brown. Very rustic Italian look.
