It also helps me illustrate a point about the watch industry, and how a good watch is really made up from the efforts of several entities working together.When you see a new watch that you like. You pick it up and may think to yourself, "they really make a nice watch." Don't kid yourself into thinking that most small watch makers and brands (both large and small) are able to make and design everything themselves. You already know that for the most part, watch movements are all sourced, and more often than not, the components that make up your watch come from many places.None of this is necessarily a bad thing, and small watch makers are often proud of where they get their parts

Changing Face of Time....
Some interesting observations about the latest World Time Pateksparing the 5131R from last year with the latest release of the 5131R with the revised cities ring it is evident that Patek has changed the circumference of the circle on which the outer cities wording is based - it has been reduced to conform to the new slightly smaller circumference used for the 5230. First picture shows 2015 version of 5131R and 2016 version of 5131R - it is difficult to clearly see any size difference in the circumference of the outer wording of the cities ring.Second picture shows a combined 2015 and 2016 cities ring. The right hand half of the cities ring is from the 2016 version and the left hand half is from the 2015 version. The overlaid red lines correspond to the inner circumference of both lines of text of the cities ring of the 2015 model. Daytona 116509 WG vs AP ROO Steel
Good day TRF,I am posting this inquiry in the PAM forum to eliminate any bias response. I am eyeing both of these beautiful watches to add to my collection, Rolex Daytona WG 116509 Racing dial or AP ROO 44mm Panda dial steel. Both are similar in price points. My humble collection consist of a few Rolex (Daytona SS, YM and SubC) PAM (557 and 425)and an IWC BP. If I pick the Daytona WG Racing dial, I have to let go of my Daytona SS. If I end up with the AP ROO, I may let go of the YM. What are your thoughts between the two heavyweights? I value your opinion and would really appreciate your expert response. Thanks TRF.

AD Case this morning
AD today. Got 2 DTC in black a BLNR 4 Sub Date and 1 Sub. A bluesy and another. Of course most didn't make it to the case. These 3 cases got replinished with this shipment too.
