USAgency Air Force One Watch Winner Follow-Up
In April, 2012 the aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer watch giveaway piece was the USAgency Air Force One bundle. The giveaway included a watch, special box, wallet, and sunglasses. The winner of the giveaway - Ron B. from Israel - has now had some time with the watch and has offered a little review and some pictures. Thank again Ron, and to USAgency Watches:"First of all, sorry for the long wait for the review, I was very busy lately, and also wanted to spend some time with the watch so I could write an honest opinion about it. In the two months since I got the watch, I enjoyed it very much.It is lightweight, yet does not feel cheap at all, the weight is perfect, the weight makes it a joy to wear on the wrist even though at 47mm (without the crown) it is by no means a small watch especially on my small-medium sized wrist. The watch is made almost entirely out of polycarbonate, yet it does not feel "plastic-y" at all, the polymer is rock solid, and way more scratch resistant than I expected, aft
Technical Perspective: Ferrari Formula 1 Engineer Disassembles A Heuer Caliber 15 Automatic Chronograph Movement (Don't Try This At Home)
Automatic chronographs are wonderfully complicated movements, and the race to produce the first ended with the announcement of the Chronomatic in 1969. This movement was used by Hamilton, Heuer and Breitling (to name just a few) all the way into the 1980s. Recently we were pointed to a fascinating article on OnTheDash detailing the disassembly of a Chronomatic Caliber 15, complete with scans of the official service manual. Even more interesting is who wrote this article: Gianluca – an Italian Formula One engineer for Ferrari. Check out the article on OnTheDash. 1 OF 1 Heuer Monza chronograph, powered by the Chronomatic Caliber 15 movement. ADVERTISEMENT
Last watch for 2011
Hi. Just two days till I pick up my Christmas present and my final watch for this year. An Aqua Terra Chronograph in Red Gold and SS on Brown Allogator. Its been an amazing year... watch wish. I've learnt so much about Omega and changed direction as far as my collection is concerned (Only Omega now) and I am really looking forward to 2012 and what that might bring. Hope you all have a great Christmas and achieve your watch collecting goals next year.
speedy auto
Can someone give me a short explanation of why the Speedmaster automatics seem to have such a lower regard, technically, than the Speedy Pro's? I recognize the historical advantage that the SP's have. Thanks.
GMT Coke
Hi,I would like to purchase a GMT II coke (last production model before it was discontinued). Do you know what year was that? Also, are there any changes to the last production model from early 2000 models? Thank you!
