Wear it above or below the wrist bone?
Where do you wear your watch, above or below your wrist bone?I have never worn a watch above the wrist bone as it just feels too snug. However with my SMP it feels loose and heavy down lower on my arm. I am still not happy with the feel.Currently the band is adjusted to 5 1/2 links on the 6 o'clock side and 7 on the 12 o'clock side. With that adjustment it hangs down on the top of my hand and gets uncomfortable after several hours. Any suggestions? TIA, Bill P.
Would you?
Hey fellows. Since the prices of the 5711/1A are through the roof Lately I've been toying with the idea of flipping mine for a 5711/1R. If you could get it from an AD at MSRP which I think is around $51k would you upgrade? I can get anywhere from $47k to $50k for my 5711. I love my steel nautilus, but with the second market price I wonder if it would be a good opportunity to go all gold. My current collection right now is 5711A, 5164A, White Daytona C, and this summer the new Steel Pepsi GMT.What do u think? Has anyone gone though that process?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
At the end I ended up
at the dark side. After being Panerai opponents throughout my watchcollectinglifefor the simple reason that the crown guard went away if you want to have the watch on your wrist becomes nothing good I think with this grotesque bodywork. Then they make a sandwich dial that is completely outstanding made me get up the eyes of Destro (left-hinged) model, which is a good compromise. The model 219 since missing a second hand made me the confident because I think Panerai withsub second be completely wrong proportions because it is so small relative to the rest of the watch, I think.Furthermore, I would like to have it brushed instead of mirror finish which is likely to be what it is suffering. The wife was with and inspected during unpacking and thought it seemed to be a crap watch when they sent a screwdriver. You should have it when it breaks down?Glassback and a decorated movement looks nice on a watch that can handle 300 meters.Naturally, it is alright readable in dark.
U.S. ADs selling pre-owned above MSRP
An AD that I visit has a small pre-owned section and happened to have a (essentially new) hard to find watch there sold at a mark-up consistent with grey market prices. This particular model was explained as a 2 week old trade in that still appeared to have the stickers on it. Now, I don’t blame them for selling the watch at prevailing market, but in theory, they could basically just put a friends name on the warranty card declare it used, and now sell at the higher price. Not sure if this something Rolex would have a problem with, but just curious how everyone else’s ADs are responding to these secondary market prices we’ve seen over the last year+?
jump hour issue
I noticed today while using the jump hour function on my rolex explorer ii ref 216570, if i change the hour hand too much the minute hand starts moving and i have to reset the time. anyone else have this type of issue? should i take it in for a service or just have a watchmaker look at it?
